Alexz Johnson is a Canadian singer-songwriter and actress who has spent most of her career under the radar of most. She has an impressive acting resume though that is not her main focus or passion.

There are people who remember her as Annie in So Weird. People may remember her as Erin Ulmer in Final Destination 3 or Jude Harrison in the show Instant Star. Instant Star ran for 4 seasons, where she was the lead, and she also sang and recorded all her songs for the show. Instant Star was a great opportunity for Alexz in that it gave her a chance to act and sing on a regular basis. She contributed a handful of songs to the show. The song "Skin", "Criminal", and "24 Hours" show her writing ability and contribution to the show. After season one was over she decided to let others handle the songwriting until season 4, where she gave them "I Just Wanted Your Love".
During this time Alexz went through Capitol Records and Epic Records recording her own material trying to get it out there for everyone to listen to. With the recession affecting record labels she was dropped from her last label, Epic Records, along with 1/3 of their roster. Undetered she kept writing and recording music and is now planning to release her solo album, called Voodoo, independantly. Her first single, Trip Around The World, was released February 2nd, 2010 and can be streamed at her official site of AlexzJohnson.com. Her album is set to be released on March 30th.
This has not been a quick or easy journey for her. She's experienced setbacks and label troubles throughout the years and just getting to this point is a major victory. Fans have been waiting patiently for a long time for Alexz to finally release her own music. She is a true example that an overnight success often has years of work behind it, with struggles, hardships, and sometimes just bad luck trying to stop you. Many others would have given up long ago, but she kept on pursuing and chasing this passion of music she has. The stage is finally set for her to release her music to the world.
If you want to learn more about Alexz Johnson you can visit a little page I made for her here. Many video and music sites already have lots of her songs available to listen to. One of the first things you're going to notice is how different her songs are from the songs she recorded while on Instant Star or So Weird. It can be a surprise for some, but you'll learn to appreciate both.

Looks like all the Alexz Johnson songs that I've checked out so far are from Instant Star, so I'm looking forward to checking out some of her other songs that aren't from the show. Great review, Robby! :)

Hey AlmostRambo, Good Article on Alexz. Yes this is what we need to do to help promote alexz you me and the rest of the Alexz community to help Alexz become a star and not just a footnote in music history or acting history.

Alexz Johnson (born November 4, 1986) is a Canadian musician and singer-songwriter who made her start through acting, and is best known for her Gemini Award-winning portrayal of Jude Harrison in the teen drama series Instant Star, and for her vocal performances on four soundtrack albums from the show. She has been nominated three times for a Gemini Award, winning the award in October 2008. She is also known for her roles in Final Destination 3 and So Weird, and for her portrayal of Saturn Girl in Smallville.
