For a movie. I'll go with Grave of the Fireflies. Screw all the sacred cows. Akira, Vampire Hunter D etc.

That's tough. I think it would have to be a tie between GW Endless Waltz and Yu Yu Hakusho (the long one, not the short one). I usually stick to anime series, but I pick these because I've watched both more than once. I've noticed that people complain about both, but I enjoyed them.

Well I think Miyazaki is a Genius and all his films either Brilliant or Masterpieces - My favorite of his Films is Spirited Away.

Far and away Spritited Away ranks at the top of my anime movies collection. After that Grave of the Fireflies, the Cowboy Bebop movies, and pretty much everything by Miyazaki comes next.

Anime Movie, I've only seen a couple. I'll go with Mobile Suit Gundam 1. It's a nice truncated version of the first 14 or so episodes. It cuts out a lot of fat, spent some money on new animation and told the story better. 2 was good but after a nice lengthy opening with a lot of new footage it's all over the place. 3 is also good with A LOT of new footage and things, but I liked 1 the best.
