Chibi☆Devi! is a Shoujo manga series by Shinozuka Hiromu. The manga is about a young girl named Honoka Sawada, who is made fun of because she doesn’t believe in God, the devil, or any of that stuff (wow the world is cruel on Atheist). She has no friends and is all alone since her parents seem to be out of the picture. One day a baby demon appears on her bed and her life is forever changed as she has to raise it. I’ve heard people compare this series to Beelzebub but really they have nothing in common except the demon babies and Beelzebub isn’t the first manga to have a demon baby anyways.
The anime adaption is another 5 minute long show by SynergySP. The show is an all ages kind of deal as it’s sweet and is not violent with no foul language or ridiculous hijinks. We watch Honoka and the baby Mao spend time together and maybe even grow as people. The show is all kinds of sweet you would expect from the title. The animation is limited and doesn’t move too much. When it does it looks fine but movement is limited. This is something I find common for most short 5 minute long animes. The music is pretty much non-existent. It’s there but I barely noticed it.
Overall it’s a sweet little show that may just make you feel all warm inside, if that’s your thing. Don’t come in looking for lots of laughs and crazy violence. This isn’t Beelzebub by any means. But if you want a story about a young girl and her cute baby friend then look no farther. For what it’s worth I give Chibi☆Devi! a 3/5. It’s just another short 5 minute show. Nothing sticks out but nothing is bad ether. It’s a sweet little show to watch though.
