Four part anime OVA from 1988-89, based off of the Masamune Shirow manga of the same name.
< read all 1 reviews I'm sure your parents have told you a few times in your life "Don't judge a book by its cover." That statement is perfectly applicable for this animated hunk of shit, since I was swindled into buying it based on the eye candy on the DVD case.
Look around for some folks that were anime fans during the 80's and 90's, and chances are some will tell you that Dominion Tank Police is a classic in the genre. Oh how wrong they are. This anime is a disaster because despite being billed as a comedy anime, I didn't laugh once. Practically all the jokes are dime-a-dozen sexual gags (har har, one of the Puma sisters has a band-aid on her nipple). It doesn't help that the "depth" for the central villain (I forget his name, so I'll just refer to him as "ape guy") was extremely forced and that the storyline tried way too hard to be more than what it is. I guarantee you that you'll be left cold and angry when DTP is all over.
Personally, I suggest you watch these anime titles if you're in the mood for some pre-Ghost in the Shell cyberpunk anime (even if one is a guilty pleasure).

Dominion Tank Police has been out-of-print for quite a while, let's hope it stays that way.
