Dragon Ball Z is no doubt one of those series that is one season way too long. But I will not hide the fact that I was hooked to it for awhile, mainly because of the colorful villains and very simple, easy to follow plots. The biggest problem is just how long the battles drag. For some though, that's actually a good thing.

I loved this back in the day, but only for Vegeta. Still pisses me off how he was treated throughout the series.

That's one of the reasons why I don't care for it. Vegeta and Piccolo both should have been treated better, and Goku should have stayed dead. I really hated how they were used in Bojack Unbound.

No doubt man they both are badasses that were made to look weaker compared to that loser in the orange.
I think for me the worst part of DBZ was the Freeza/Namek saga(s). I mean, they fight a little bit toward the end of an episode, but mostly just stand around while the wind blows ominously. But then I really, really liked when Mirai Trunks came onto the scene. I think that has to be my very favorite part of the whole story.

I hear you, there are far too many moments with the constipated looking stare downs. They're supposedly adding to the drama, when in truth, it's just a very cheap and lame tactic to stretch an already too long cash cow.
yeah, I think after Cooler, the battles did go too long. I stopped watching after Gou achieved Super Siayan 4...

Cooler was the movie, Frieza was the saga, and it was way too long. I think the Buu saga, Fusion most notably, was the most frustrating one to get through. It felt like it was never going to end.
Goku reached that level in GT, and that's when the show really begun to suck terribly.
First of all, before I bash Dragonball Z, I did keep in mind that when I watched the few episodes I did see, I wasn't expecting this to be a "high class" anime. With that said, I didn't find DBZ amusing or exciting, give or take a few ridiculous scenes. This is NOT an anime for people who don't like having their patience tried, since this anime is rife with overlong fighting scenes and redundant pervert comedy. I recommend this anime only … more
