SB is ok. I don't spend much time out and about except when we are eating. I am just way too busy with school! I like Ventura more. I go there with J when I have a day off from school. I spend the entire time working in a coffee shop or at the Ventura Library.

I like Downtown SB much better than IV or Goleta. Ventura's SUPER cute- I remember there being a ton of vintage shops there. Have you guys checked out Paradise Cafe? It's a nice romantic spot...

I like Dowtown SB, but it can get really congested with traffic. Goleta is a little easier to drive around in, minus IV which is a mess of bikers! Ventura is my fave among them all, though. We haven't checked out Paradise Cafe. Where is that located at?

I hear ya...and IV...I STILL call that place HIV LOL Paradise Cafe's on the corner of Ortega and Anacapa. Ventura is fun, I have to go back now that it's been over a decade.

I really liked the new John Carter film. It helps to be familiar with the early ERB books. The film takes a few elements from the books and expands them a bit. No astral projection to Mars as in the book, but it's still fun to watch. A lot of pro reviewers really missed the mark, comparing it to Star Wars, etc., when ERB came up with fliers back in 1912! He pre-dates Buck Rogers.

Tough! It's interesting that friends think my class is an art computer class. There are no computers anywhere! Design 101 deals with paper, glue, scissors and stuff. And lots of evaluation of art. Midterms are next week, sadly.

My final project in that class was making a nutritional Tarot deck, where I predict your grocery future. Was pretty goofy but I got a B for the effort. Other students made a beehive out of wood and paper mache and another made a grocery bag that folds out into a picnic blanket. I did this class because it was a prerequisite to a photo class I decided not to take! Duh!

I created a Hunger Games badge for those who have read the book and seen the movie at Forbidden Planet. From the trailer, the film looks faithful to the book.

Aw, thanks, Debbie! I miss everyone here so much! Right now, I'm trying to finish unpacking the last 20+ boxes and get settled into the quarter system. It's really throwing me for a loop. I have plenty of review ideas. I just need to make the time to write once I get my homework done.

I was not impressed with Tupelo Junction on my visit there! The salad was good and the service was OK, but it's empty place and taking 10 minutes to get me a pie & ice cream was much. Plus, an employee was chatting on her cell phone in the dining area. Brother!

Hi, That's the thing -- we like to "wing" our road trips so that we're open to all eventualities. Oddly enough it works. I do know that I will be in Salinas on Thursday and then we pack it off to Solvang. After an overnight in Solvang, I believe we're heading down on Friday and at the latest Saturday. Sorry to sound so unsure. I'll get in touch with my pal and let you know when things are firmer. I know you're busy, but I'm online all the time so I'll get an email to you via Lunch as soon as I can. I won't have email access on Thursday through Saturday though. I should have more info tonight.

Yummy! Speaking of fish...I'm going to an Oyster Festival this Saturday and a Fish Festival on Sunday. I'm super excited about it because since we are leaving the area soon, it will be the last time we can go.

I do hope I earn them too, but I'm super slow. So, I recommend not holding your breath. ;)

It was the anime character one. It must have been a glitch, because last time i couldn't leave comments or send messages at all. And I haven't been on FB for about a week. I have friend invites just sitting there. I don't plan on getting on right now either. I have a couple of things to do. Plus I just blocked someone and she came back on her sister's account. shoot me a message on it though.

Ah, yes, it must have been because I see a comment there from you now. It finally went through. Yeah, FB can be a pain in the rear, so I understand not wanting to go over there all the time. I'll shoot you a quick message about what's on my mind. You can get back to me whenever. Sucks about the person still contacting you despite blocking her. Might have to block the sister's account too...unless you are friends with the sister. Then, that complicates everything. :-|

yeah I saw it, the site was just lagging that's all. I don't spend too much time on FB, because I like to get things done for the most part, and when I open my eyes, hours on top of hours have passed by. I'll accept that invite if you send it. And yeah it does suck, but since I don't like her sister either, blocking her was easy too. Maybe she'll use her cats account next. Also, I just got done adding the complete Marvel Zombies catalogue, and you have to add Marvel Zombies 5 to your badge, that's a brand new title to the site.

Yup. I added a new link and edited the description about me. I joined a new publication site, but I'm not sure if I will actually contribute all that often there. Too many sites to cross-post to these days.

And, glad you like it! I got a lot of cheers when I walked across the stage and my thesis title was read by the dean. Jason still doesn't like that I used the colon, but I'm very pleased with it. :)

A colon is supposed to show more explanation or definition of the previous phrase, which I believe it does in this case. Nothing grammatically wrong with that! (Sorry, my two cents). I notice that I'm still in the top ten at Cafe Libri but still need to write more book reviews. I have a whole stack of cheap paperbacks but they're mostly sci-fi. My last recent book review was of a photography textbook I believe.

It's not the use of the colon that he objects to. It's the weakness he sees in titles that rely on the colon to further explain/define a title. He thinks the best titles don't use colons. :) And, you're doing fantastic in Cafe Libri! I've been trying to get a slew of reviews done for the community, but I've been uber busy! There was one point where I saw you in the top 5! Let me know when you post more contributions in my community. Will love to read them!
