About Me

Although I'm a laid back homebody, I am known not to take any responsibility that I cannot live up to. Note that I don't have that many responsibilities, so you get back to the laid back homebody.

I believe that there's so much to see, laugh at and experience before maturity and wisdom kicks in. I'm also a gamer and am darn proud … more

Reflections on the Blue Lagoon (A Celebration of Puberty Without Shackles)

This article might contain spoilers. The Blue Lagoon (1980) is a motion picture that depicts a coming of age story in a lush, paradisal setting, located far and away from modern civilization. Based on the novel of the same name by Henry De Vere Stacpoole, the movie presents us with two children, Emmeline and Richard, who grow up together as best … more

Never Trust the Chinese (as you listen to this album)

Mr. Meeble's music is just right for those unexpected mood swings in the most unexpected hours. The group's debut album Never Trust the Chinese is a journey out of this world accompanied by tracks that range from organic, electronic to trip hop and dark ambient. Minimalistic at one track and polished in another, Mr. Meeble's music is like a breath … more

Superman & The Little Girl

I need a "How to write an adequate review for the movie of your life" type of guide, some sort of impartial direction before I attempt to sit down and put together something about Superman: The Movie. I guess I will just try and be my silly self, dear reader, (as opposed to a puny attempt to be an objective reviewer with the tone of a pro; one I can/will … more

It was a T.G.I. Friday moment while I was looking at my choices. It was my off day so it was merely a matter of which movie to watch and not ending up having wasted some hundred minutes of my life. I decided to go with William Malone's Parasomnia because:1) No matter what everyone says, I like FeardotCom (more so than the futile remake "The Pulse", … more

It was a casual Wednesday morning for moi as I woke up a little early and had nothing to do until my 3 PM class. Just like everyone else who has nothing to do, I sat down to watch a horror flick after having toasts for breakfast and burying my face into to the softest, furriest cat belly in the world as a part of my morning ritual. So this time it was … more

This game a good example of how atmosphere should be put together both graphics and feeling-wise. A beautiful combination of steampunk and horror.

I'm so glad you're back and was curious if and when we might be able to read a review by you on your musical tastes.

Thank you for the welcome back, Orlok. Is that a very implicit challenge? :P On a serious note, you're right. I am yet to put together a review that is centered around music here at Lunch. But when I write about music, I get way too emotional and carried away easily. By the way you can read some very primitive attempts of my song reviews at www.phantasmelodia.com (domain name and concept is all mine -- good ol' days) when you really really REALLY don't have anything more important to do *laughs*. Consider yourself warned and proceed at your own risk.

That sounds like fun. I'll check those out when I have a bit of spare time. What kind of music do you listen to? Maybe you could put together a simple list if a review would be too emotional. I know how you feel. I'm that way with art. I could write a review on an artist, but never on a piece of art. I tend to get so wrapped up in the emotions that piece evokes that I fail to remain objective and informative.

Hi Ayda, how’s it going? I just wanted to fill you in on what's new at Lunch. There are lots of great new features to explore! Thought you might want to check out this review on the book The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by @MichaelN if you’re at all into Swedish mystery or a review on Neutrogena Build-a-Tan by @RobynB. If you have any favorite books or movies, you could create lists of your favorite titles. Let me know if you have any questions and I hope to see you around lunch!

They should be sending out milk cartons with Anirul's face on them..."Have you seen this reviewer?" LOL
On June 27, 2009
I'm not sure they still do that. Besides, we reviewers are a little too warped to get our faced stamped on something so wholesome as a carton of milk. Why not beer cans instead? ;)

Hey, Woop. Thanks, it's just that I'm simply enjoying doing nothing and spending time with my boyfriend after two weeks of finals. I'll be back sometime soon or I'll start my own blog where I'll be putting my 2 cents in. We'll see. Hope life's been treating you well. Until next time...
