Zooey Deschanel and M. Ward serve up another slice of Phil Spector-esque, summertime pop and country-tinged wistfulness. This is a very nostalgic sounding record that evokes classic 60s and 70s, singer/songwriter material, but it has enough of a contemporary flavour to prevent things from sounding like a pastiche. M. Ward's production is rich and warm sounding, and Deschanel shows she has a real … more

I just saw Where the Wild Things Are. I'm not sure this soundtrack works well for the movie. It's kind of odd to see big freaky monsters with pop music and female vocalists singing. It's not bad, but just not the greatest fit (I think something more along the lines of Pan's Labyrinth would have been more appropriate).
I seen that she was the lead singer for Rilo Kiley and honestly I def. like her by herself. She has a fun sound and this is something I would like to listen to when Im around the house getting things done. I def like her style!
I tested out a few tracks on them and they arent bad. I wouldnt personally listen to them but they are good enough to my ears that I can sit there and listen through their songs. The lead singers voice reminds me of Gwen Stefani a little bit..and thats a compliment! I can see them being a big deal!

Why? BECAUSE HE STOLE EVERYTHING FROM THEM. Ok, I'm just kidding (sort of) everyone knows that Kurt liked a lot of bands and was influenced by all of them (The Meat Puppets are probably the most well-known example) . But The Vaselines were (arguably) his favorite band of them all, and I totally get why. You know the Nirvana song, "Jesus Doesn't Want Me For a Sunbeam"? … more
Mix aural traces of Africa, Europe, and New York. Approach a Radiohead solution by way of Talking Heads (or vice versa). Then drown it all in conscious-throbbing Byrneian rambling excess. The result: proof that every so often the corporate Indie machine produces genuine achievement. Sometimes they fall into the necessary glumness via strings and the music becomes graceless. More times, they rejuvenate … more
Oh to listen to brand new perfect, well pressed vinyl. This album is an amazing pleasure to listen to on vinyl. There is a reason In Rainbows was the top selling vinyl album in 2008, it's well near perfect. Listen to the previews, download the MP3's, then go and buy this on vinyl. The sound quality and difference is remarkable. Everything is just warmer, and clearer than on … more

This is a very good album from Coldplay. My favorite track is the lead single "Viva la Vida". It is very spirited song. Chris Martin's vocals are excellent on this track. The guitar playing by Jonny Buckland is so good on the track "Violet Hill". Will Champion provides a steady strong drum beat throughout this entire disc. "Life in Technicolor" is an excellent instrumental track. The boys of Coldplay … more

Coldplay moves away from their usual radio-friendly soaring anthems, but still score big with their fourth studio album, which is filled with rich instrumental passages, as in the very first track "Life in Technicolor". The second track "Cemeteries of London" reminds me of soundtrack music from those old spaghetti westerns, but with deep and introspective lyrics: "God … more
