art is life... life is art
A Lunch community for lovers of all kinds of art!

This question is kind of a joint question between Cafe Libri and Art is Life..., so I'll be posting it in both places. I just wanted to let you all know to avoid confusion.

While purely textual books are wonderful, I've always had a special place in my heart for books that feature illustrations, particularly historical volumes and children's books. What illustrator(s) do you like and why?

Doctor Seuss books hands down! They were so fun and imaginative, that even though you had the illustrations, you still exercised your imagination. The biggest enjoyment I get in reading is to be transported to the place in the book through my own imagination. These are only picture books that acheive this goal for me.
