Up until just recently I was unfamiliar with artwork of John Bauer, with the exception of Princess Tuvstarr and the Fishpond, but he's already become one of my favorite illustrators. His works provided inspiration for classic illustrators like Arthur Rackham and fantasy artists like Brian Froud. I will definitely be looking into his artwork over the next few weeks and likely will add him to my list of favorite artists.
