This list is based off of a mental_floss article of the same title, in the same order with the same secret items. Thought I'd share a summarized version of the list on Lunch! Before you read this list though, I should probably include mental_floss's mission statement: Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to seek out covert items at fast food chains around the country. Be warned, this mission includes very real dangers such as hardening arteries and skyrocketing cholesterol. We've compiled a list to get you started.
Everyone knows that Starbucks drinks can be ordered as tall, grande or venti, but have you ever heard of a short? I actually learned this from a friend a few years ago, but have never seen anyone else order it. It's the cutest, most tiny baby Starbucks cup ever. Would never be enough to satiate my thirst though :P
Apparently, Jamba Juice doesn't advertise these because they're considered a "healthy" chain (whatever! Their drinks are chalked full of sugary deliciousness!), but they have CANDY flavored smoothies! They include "Strawberry Shortcake, White Gummy Bear, PB&J, Various flavors of Starbursts, Fruity Pebbles, Push-Up Pops, and Skittles. Other tantalizing flavors that are rumored to exist: Chocolate Gummi Bear, Apple Pie, Sourpatch Kid, Tootsie Roll, and Now and Later."
OMG, brb, going to Jamba Juice.
Edit: This is a Lunch exclusive! Well, kind of :P I shared this on my Facebook wall and one of my friend commented, "White gummy is bomb!!! That used to be on the menu but being that the secret menu carries all the high calorie ones, they took them off the menu. Some stores also don't know how to make some of them either. You can also google the jamba secret menu and you'll find the menus for jamba to make it for you. It'll have something like green scoop and red scoops sizes. It's jamba scoop terms".
I've never even heard of Fatburger, but I already like the sound of this. It's called The Hypocrite, perfect for guilty ex-vegetarians like myself. It's a veggie burger topped with bacon.
Apparently, it's store policy that if the ingredients available to make what you want, they'll make it, so they'll make nachos and quesidillas even though they're not on the menu.
Another tip: one thing that I learned from reading the little blurb on their soda cups once is that you can order their tacos as single or double instead of the usual triple that come in an order of tacos. I've yet to try this.
Edit: Another Lunch exclusive! And again, kind of :P According to @Sean_Rhodes in his comment below, a Chipotle burrito can be made with more than just one kind of meat. He orders chicken and steak in his. Awesome!
Is this really a secret? I don't think that I've actually ordered anything off their regular menu in years. Seems like the cats out of the bag, but anyways, besides the neopolitan shake, you can animal style your grub, get your burgers protein style, order your fries extra crispy, order as many slices of cheese and beef patties on a burger as you want, grill your onions.... But there's one thing that I just learned about from this list: The Flying Dutchman; instead of a burger bun, you get a patty bun, and two slices of cheese inside.
Hold on, I'm gonna stop by In-N-Out for a flying Dutchman after I get my white gummy bear smoothie at Jamba Juice.
If you want to go healthy-er at Popeyes, you can order their fried chicken "naked", which means it goes unbreaded. Apparently, this is only listed on menus at select Popeyes, but available at all Popeyes if you order it.
Apparently, same rules apply with Chipotle; if they've got the ingredients to make what you want, they'll make it. Within reason, of course. Another secret: they apparently have an excellent green chili sauce.
omg, I'm a sucker for salsa verde! Will stop by here after Jamba Juice and In-N-Out.
Remember Subway's pizza sub from the 90's? Well, that got nixed when they decided to market themselves as a healthy food chain, but according to mental_floss, most Subways will still make it for you if you ask, and apparently, this is still a standard menu item at Mexican and Canadian Subways.
What did you think of this list?

your list is great! i was going to eat to popeyes and wendy's, but i like more chipotle
This is such a great list! Just yesterday I ordered a cheeseburger "protein style" and fries "animal style" which completely contradict each other, I'd say, but still yummy!

Thanks, Aunny! I like that. I think I might just go to In-N-Out and order those tonight :D
I hear In-n-Out makes grilled cheese sandwiches. Served on a bun or some other bread? With tomatoes, grilled onions and fries-- even a meatless, but salad-hating, very finicky, non-chain frequenting snob like me would like that.

Hey John, In-N-Out does have grilled cheese sandwiches. I loved those when I was a vegetarian and even now that I eat meat, I still love them! It's like a burger, minus the patty, and the cheese is grilled with the bun :D
Good list! I don't think we have a Jamba Juice but that does sound awesome. I am a bit ticked off right now at Subway for getting rid of the Orchard Chicken Salad. It was healthier & simply delicious. I think it was the sub of the month but it got nixed as it didn't do so well in my area. Of course, I still frequent the Subway irregardless & lick my wounds.

Aw, that's too bad that you don't have Jamba Juice! I've never heard of the Orchard Chicken Salad at Subway before, so I had to Google it, and OMG, it sounds delicious! I wonder why they got rid of it if people were raving about it so much...

I will google Jamba Juice. I just recently found out that there are several Trader Joe's In North Carolina even though they are atleast an hour or so away from me. Ahh, Orchard Chicken Salad was awesome! Some Subway restaurants still have it but I'm having to jump through hoops now to find them. It's insanity but I do hope you will have the chance to try that if the Subway in your area still carries it.
Actually around Colorado, the secrets of Chipotle aren't really secrets. They're not on the menu but I've seen people order Nachos and the double taco so many times I keep wondering why they don't have it on the menu. But I see people do it all the time. They've even got a lot of the preparations for it in the back if you ask.
I think the pizza's at Subway came back, recently. At least some of them it seems they've come back.

Awesome! Just like how everyone knows the In-N-Out menu. People around where I live don't seem to know about the Chipotle secret menu. The most extreme that I've ever seen anyone stray from the menu is getting an order of tacos with different meats in each one.
Which reminds me, Chipotle will also let you mix and match meets in the same burrito. For instance you can say you want half chicken and half steak and they'll do it for you. It's not on the menu that you can do it, but they've got a price for it and everything. I end up getting a chicken/steak mix all the time because I love both and can never decide. I think I went up to the clerk at one point and just asked if I was allowed to do that and she simply said, "Is that what you'd like," and I told her I would and the next question out of her mouth was... "Black or Pinto beans?" Good times.

Whoa, that's awesome! I'm going to have to edit the Chipotle portion of my list now. Thanks for the tip! :)

Awesome, I got to help! And a shoutout too. Now I feel special.
