Though the soundtrack- and the clothing- totally places this movie squarely in the '80s, the story of high school crushes and cliques, weird family members, and...um, even weirder foreign exchange students, will forever resonate with teenagers. I can't even begin to count the number of times my 13 year-old self rooted for Sam as she pined after the dreamy Jake Ryan, and sympathized with her as the only guy she seemed to attract attention from was the geeky Farmer Ted. In fact, I'm getting nostalgic just thinkin' about it. With memorable and lovable characters and a timeless story, Sixteen Candles holds a permanent place in my teenage heart as a classic.

True- but while I like Pretty In Pink, I definitely think that it's between The Breakfast Club and 16 Candles for me- TBC basically set the standard for brat pack movies! Thx for alerting me to the exhilaRATE game, about to play it now!
