While I'm not the biggest fan of the Star Wars prequels, I must say that over the course of all three films, Ewan McGregor's role as Obi-Wan Kenobi captivated me the most. In my opinion, he developed more than any other character in the prequels (including Darth Vader). McGregor's acting was the best of the bunch as well (although that isn't saying much), and for that I enjoyed his character even more.
With the entire Star Wars saga about to hit the screen once more (in 3-D) over the course of the next six years starting with The Phantom Menace in February 2012, I got into fanboy mode and started picking up some of the older action figures still available in storess (many of which happen to be on clearance). New figures have been released for the upcoming film, but the only ones that I'm really chasing are Qui-Gon Jinn and Darth Maul. I prefer some of the older figures to this new lineup.
One figure that I always wanted to pick up but was never willing to pay full price for was the Obi-Wan Kenobi Saga Legends 2011 figure. It's a very simple mold with decent articulation and features Kenobi with his trademark blue lightsaber, "secret" weapons (which is just a small collection of generic Star Wars blasters and rifles), a die and Galactic Battle game card, and a base to stand the figure on.
The mold looks a good bit like Ewan McGregor, and although it represents Kenobi from Revenge of the Sith, I have him facing off against my Darth Maul figure on display by my computer.
Overall, this is a pretty cool figure to have. Now I have to chase after Kenobi from the Clone Wars with his battle armor on. That one's on clearance as well!

Despite looking extremely cool, I have to admit that I'm a dork. I grew up on the outskirts of the small town of Oberlin, LA. I have since relocated to the Lake Charles, LA area.I love my home state … more
