Being a Louisiana native and a huge fan of food, I've always been amazed by the story of Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers. It is quite an amazing tale. If you'd like to know the company's story, visit either their website, www.raisingcanes.com, or check out their page on Wikipedia. This review focuses on the restaurant itself and the wonderful chicken fingers that it serves.
If you love to eat chicken fingers or chicken strips, you need go nowhere else than Raising Cane's. That is all the restaurant serves. You can get one of a number of combos to feed your appetite. Personally, I always feast on the 3 Finger Combo. My wife enjoys the six finger Caniac Combo, but in all fairness, she splits it with our son. My daughter picks up the two finger kid's meal. Also available are The Box which comes with four fingers and the three finger The Sandwich combo. The Box, 3 Finger Combo, and Caniac all come with the signature Cane's sauce, Texas Toast, French fries, and coleslaw. For those of you who don't like coleslaw, you can opt to get extra fries, another piece of toast, or more Cane's sauce. The kid's meal and The Sandwich come with fries and a drink. If you're having a party, you can order Tailgate Boxes that range from a minimum of twenty five fingers and a maximum of one hundred. Of course, you can order as many fingers as you want, but the boxes only fit up to one hundred fingers.
Chicken fingers, that's it. There's nothing else on the menu. If you want a burger, go elsewhere, but if you want some of the best tasting chicken fingers you'll ever find, Raising Cane's is the place to be.
I've eaten at Raising Cane's all over the state of Louisiana, as well as in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The company has expanded to a number of other states as well. One of the things that I like most about Cane's is the fact that it is almost always located near the local college or university and supports them as well. Even in little old Lake Charles, LA, where I graduated from McNeese State University, you can go into Cane's right now and purchase a McNeese State Cowboys koozie with Cane's and the official Cowboys logo plastered on it. I still own a Cowboys cup I got from Cane's a few years ago.
Another interesting thing about Cane's is that they have framed photos from pop culture and the local community all over the walls.
The staff has always been friendly at all of the Cane's I've been too. If I have to knock them for anything, it's that the service can sometimes be slow. However, I've never, ever had a bad chicken finger from Raising Cane's, and that's the most important thing to me.
If you've never been to a Raising Cane's and get the opportunity to visit one, I highly recommend you try their chicken fingers and Cane's sauce. I'm as rabid about Cane's as many other people are about places like White Castle.

Despite looking extremely cool, I have to admit that I'm a dork. I grew up on the outskirts of the small town of Oberlin, LA. I have since relocated to the Lake Charles, LA area.I love my home state … more
