Best Halloween Candy

Halloween isn't just about pumpkins, goblins, ghosts and haunted houses, it's also about CANDY! The collection of treats can be even more fun than dressing up when you're a kid. Which got me thinking about all of the great candy we used to collect, divide into piles and barter after the big Halloween Trick or Treat fest. Here are some favorites.
1
Nestle Crunch
LOVE THESE! Perhaps the most perfect chocolate, crunchy candy bar ever. The bite size is king!
2
Almond Joy
I'm a major sucker for coconut!
3
Dots Candy
I really, really like dots. I won't eat the green or yellow, but back in the day if you traded me a red, orange, or pink colored dot, we were best friends forever.
4
Twizzlers
Red licorice is quite possibly my favorite candy ever! Light and chewy!
5
Sweet Tarts
As a kid I could eat endless amounts of these. I love the tangy flavors.
6
Milk Dud
These are great. Caramel, chocolate, and chewy goodness. Usually stick to your upper mouth and teeth.
7
Snickers®
A standard goodie. The bite size is preferred. The perfect mix of chocolate nut, caramel and filling. Love the texture!
8
Kit Kat
The perfect crispy, chocolate wafer combination.
9
Candy Corn
This gets credit for designer options that appeal to the Halloween mood. The best are the pumpkin shapes.
10
Reese's Peanut Butter Cup
If you like peanut butter there's no way around liking Reese's.
11
M & M's
Who doesn't like M & M's? They are the perfect size and chocolate taste.
12
Junior Mints
Mint + Chocolate in perfect gooey, bite sizes. Still one of the best!
13
Starburst
Starbursts provide that much needed break from chocolate with fruity flavor options. My favorite is always the pink or red.
14
Hershey Bar
Can't beat straight chocolate.
15
Popcorn Balls
People have definitely started to drift away from homemade Halloween treats (for obvious safety reasons), but growing up this was a standard handout and usually quite good.
16
Butterfinger
Different take on the standard candy bar, these babies are pretty darn good.
17
Tootsie Rolls
In my opinion Tootsie Rolls are like filler candy - there to take up space in the Halloween basket and make you think you have more candy options that you do. I always used to end up with a 100 more tootsie rolls than anything else.
18
skittles
I've never been a huge fan, but growing up my brother hoarded these. I can't even tell you how many he ate...maybe 20,000? :)Red is the best color!
19
Bit o' Honey
One of my mom's favorites.
20
Pixie Stix
Not my favorite, but so many people love these. I can't understand the purpose of consuming straight powdery sugar. It grosses me out. Once I saw my little cousins consume 3 sticks in 10 minutes. It was like a massive adrenaline attack! They went nuts. Certainly a kid favorite, but doesn't help the parents out.
21
Nut Goodie
Kind of a classic. Awesome combination of salt and sugar!

fun list! i have never seen popcorn balls handed out for halloween... now i'm thinking maybe things were/are different in different neighborhoods, using a pillow case as your treat bag is pretty universal right? thx!
