A ground breaking Television Comedy series which broke most astablished rules in comedy. Wild and Wacky, Surreal and Intellectual and most importantly Fantastically Funny. The first series started in 1969 and the fourth and last series was 1974. The Pythons are John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin and Terry Gilliam.
Poor Brian, who lives in the time of Jesus, is mistaken for a messiah, the Pythons poke fun of silly believers and noncritical followers of every latest trend religious or othervise. Many have mistaken this film as an attack on Jesus but thats a big mistake, the Pythons are poking fun of the followers who never listen or think for themselves.
Fantastic film and one of my all time favorite. A collection of sketches all related one way or another to the meaning of live and they Actually do find it, but of course it gets lost in ordinary every day activities so you have to watch closely and pay attention. Simply one of the best films ever made, a Grand Masterpiece.
A brilliant CD with their hillarious songs from the TV show and the Films.

I didn't know there was a collection of their songs available. I gotta get that! Aside from Monty Python, my favorite silly comedy is Blazing Saddles, I watch it at least once every year. You seen it?

Oh yes - Love it, Mel Brooks was so good in the 70´s apart from Blazing I love Young Frankenstein and Silent Movie and High Anxiety is also great.
Great list! I've been a die-hard Python fan for the past six years or so and I have the DVDs of the first two films, the Personal Best Collection, and the entire series. I'm planning on getting some of the books and memoirs about the cast too. Any favorite sketches or episodes?

Well there are so many fantastic sketches but Crunchy frog Parrot - Deja vu - Nudge Nudge - Argument - Silly Walk and Lumberjack springs to mind and I find the whole film Meaning of Life to be an absolute bloody Masterpiece.

I'm a huge fan of The Piranha Brothers sketch. Every time the giant hedgehog Spiny Norman shows up crying out "Dinsdale", I can't help but burst into uncontrollable laughter. I also love The Parrot Sketch, Cheese Shop, Nudge-Nudge, The Funniest Joke in the World, and Argument Clinic, The Ministry of Silly Walks, The Lumberjack Song, The Spanish Inquisition, How to Defend Yourself Against Fresh Fruit, How Not to Be Seen, and Philosopher's Football (Phutball).
I'm planning to look for that songbook; it looks like fun. Most of the videos I haven't seen. I love Monty Python and would watch the movie once a year. I never liked Life of Brian, though.
