I'm 34 years old and yes, I'm making a Christmas list. You see, my wife and relatives often ask "what do you want for Christmas" and my response is inveitably that I don't want anything. This year, after being asked again, I thought "screw it", I'm making a list. But now that I've made my list, If I don't get all of these items, Christmas will be ruined.
I currently own a Nikon D40 digital SLR that I bought at Costco last year. It came in a kit and was a great deal. The kit included the camera, a memory card, carrying case and 2 lenses (an 18-55 and a 55-200). The two lenses are great for my purposes, but I rarely use the 2nd lens (that has the great zoom) because I never have time to change the lenses out. Having the full zoom capability in one lens will allow me to capture all the moments I want without having to swap lenses. Not to mention that only having 1 lens saves a lot of space while traveling.
I don't need this camera, but hey, its a Christmas list. I get to put things on here that I want, right? Well, who wouldn't want an upgrade to this camera? 12.3 megapixels? My D40 only has 6.1. And the reviews on Costco.com are incredible... everybody loves this camera... 5 stars across the board. Great in low lighting, great from distance, easy to use, etc. And, they're selling it in the same package that I bought my Nikon D40 DSLR with (bag, 2 lenses, memory card, etc) for $899. That's a sick deal. Honey, if you're reading this. I can sell the old camera on eBay. This camera, along with the lens I describe above will ensure us years of quality photos of our little ones, and that's worth all the money in the world, isn't it?
