Reading is my favorite past time, and I am addicted to mysteries, thrillers, psychological inspired books and any read that lets me get in the mind of others, such as serial killers (no, I am not a psycho--I am just intrigued by what makes people tick!). I also like books that make me think and analyze - the book Kill Me by Stephen White is a perfect example.
James Patterson writes with precision and absolutely NO nonsense like stupid conversations; the action that takes place in his Alex Cross novels is completely non-stop and engrossing. I believe he is the brightest author out there - where he comes up with the evil characters is beyond me. These are all page turners!!
Alex Cross is a detective, and Patterson came up with another group of characters called The Women's Murder Club which consists of a detective, an attorney, a pathologist and a reporter. All of the lady characters have their own unique personality and solve gruesome crimes. These also are page turners; I especially love the books that have 2 crimes going on at once.
As much as I love thrillers, Evonovich's Stephanie Plum series really are not gruesome or even thrillers, but the characters are so damned interesting and humorous it is impossible for me to put the book down until it's done. Until I discovered her series, I had yet to read any book that actually made me laugh out loud. Fantastic writer and unforgettable characters.
