Do your part and ignore this attention-seeking prick, then go listen to the prime works of Grandmaster Flash, Public Enemy, Ice Cube, Erik B & Rakim, and Tribe Called Quest just to name a few prime hip-hop artists/groups.]]> Tue, 22 Nov 2011 01:58:00 +0000
<![CDATA[Kanye West Quick Tip by lyssachttr]]> Thu, 1 Jul 2010 00:06:36 +0000 <![CDATA[ No Fear, No Filter, No Middle Ground]]>
But it's that he's so sick about the awards that makes him so annoying and willing to jump onto the stage and make a total fool of himself. The man is insecure, and his insecurities are so public that they can be annoying. He's like the sloppy drunk friend who calls you crying every other week. He's charming most of the time, but when he's not, oh how he's not.

There's no middle ground - Kanye's either the life of the party, or the guy who clears the room out with the most insensitive comment. Except that he does it publicly, and not in your home, so it really comes down to this - are you willing to forgive one of the most gifted entertainers of the decade his incredibly annoying tresspasses, or will you let his occasional mistakes cloud your enjoyment of his music?

I'm firmly in the forgiveness camp - I'm listening to "Love Lockdown" and "Jesus Walks," not finding a new roommate. How about you?]]> Tue, 1 Dec 2009 04:27:30 +0000
<![CDATA[ I cant review someone i dont like.]]> I dont like kanye west. I do have to give it to him cause he does make good music but his music is over shadowed by his bad manners. You could be the smartest or prettiest person in the world but if you act like a jerk it doesnt matter. no one has the right to make you feel less then what you are. Someone needs to humble Kanye West boy one day that cloud is gonna slip from under you. Great music<acting like a jerk so no one really care about the great music. hmm]]> Tue, 3 Nov 2009 07:05:22 +0000 <![CDATA[ Not the new Slick Rick]]>
But I just can't stand him now. "I'm the new Slick Rick" "The voice of this generation". He compares himself to Justin Timberlake and other artists from back then. Really ballsy, but completely unwarranted.

He's cocky, and almost always high on coke. His lyrics no longer make sense. "Fly up into NASA". Uhh... no. You can't fly up into NASA, you drugged-induced junkie.

But his beats are still sick... so he'll be heard in the clubs for quite some time.]]> Thu, 28 May 2009 23:15:51 +0000
<![CDATA[ An amazing lyricist in today's age of hip-hop.]]> The Blueprint 2, on the song, The Bounce. My first impression of Kanye was that he was a a protege to Jay-Z since he was at the time an up and coming artist on Rocafella Records, Jay-Z's record label. I later found out that this man has had a long history with the legend, Jay-Z and was first noticed for his ability to create great beats for rap songs and artists. Since then, I listened to Kanye as he released his first single, Through the Wire, and ever since then - every single he has released has become a regular hit on the radio, and every album he has recorded has been a frequently played disc in my car, at the club, and with friends.

His music has been getting deeper and better each album he releases. Graduation has been the best yet. Some may say that Kanye West has a case of some immaturity found in him, as his cockiness has shown through concerts, award shows, and interviews - but his character as an artist and as a performer is truly one of a kind.]]> Tue, 10 Jun 2008 00:19:59 +0000
