Tapas is the name of a wide variety of appetizers, or snacks, in Spanish Cuisine, they may be cold or warm.It's a great way to have smaller more affordable dishes but with more variety.The key to a tapas party is to just think small. A wonderful way to throw a tapas party is to just reinvent sandwiches,desserts, and take your favorite recipes and make small portions rather than large ones. Also having bowls of olives,cheeses,bread with a good quality olive oil for dipping and other cured meats is a good way to not be chained to the stove all day. Having an interactive food station gets people talking to one another and having a variety of food full people up a lot quicker! Make your tapas bar colorful and creative and everyone will have a good time!

In North America and the United Kingdom, as well as in select bars in Spain, tapas has evolved into an entire, and sometimes sophisticated, cuisine. In these countries, patrons of tapas restaurants can order many different tapas and combine them to make a full meal.
The serving of tapas is designed to encourage conversation because people are not so focused upon eating an entire meal that is set before them. Also, in some countries it is customary for diners to stand and move about while eating tapas.
