Lucky for Me, I'm 40 Minutes from Full of Life Flatbread

Sure, you may have tried the frozen Full of Life Flatbreads from the grocery store freezer, but have you been to the home of those flatbreads in Los Alamos, California? THAT'S where the magic really is.

You know it's good because I feel lucky that it's ONLY a 40-minute drive away. Yes, I'll drive nearly two hours in a night just to eat there.

There are few other reasons to be in Los Alamos, but at least there's plenty of beautiful spots for hiking and wine tasting nearby along California's Central Coast.

What did you like, the crust, the sauce, topping?

Yes. Yes. Yes.

What made this pizza special?

Every pizza I've eaten there tastes incredibly fresh and flavorful. And since the crust is flatbread, you can eat lots of it without feeling grossly full.

Their ingredients are all sourced from fairly close to the restaurant. Some of the produce is even grown onsite.

How was the service? How long did you wait?

The service is great. I've been fortunate to not wait too long when I've gone, but I know that you can have to wait more than an hour. Fortunately, there's a fun bar area and an impressive wine list. There are always some good beers on tap, including beers from nearby Firestone-Walker Brewing Co.

Any secret inside tips you can share?

The restaurant is only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Whatever is on special is usually good.

For dessert, the s'mores is good, but the brownie is even better -- a la mode, of course.

Wow, that must be some seriously delish pizza for a 2 hour drive!:) I totally agree with you on the flat-bread benefits. It's nice to get all that pizza flavor and taste, but not feel like you are inducing massive quantities of carbs.  Great review!

Flatbread pizza
I normally prefer thicker bread for pizza, but this place makes the BEST flatbread pizza I've ever had. The pizza is always fresh, because they make it in the restaurant RIGHT in front of you. Well, it depends where you're sitting. We got the front row seat right next to the giant brick oven where they were stuffin' all those all-natural pizzas to be baked. It was really entertaining to watch the guy turn the pizzas w/ the giant paddle thing, so I didn't mind the fact that the left side of my face …
