I went into this book not knowing what to expect except that everyone who had recommended it loved it. I knew that it was a controversial read, but I also have a very open mind when it comes to opinions and being able to form my own opinion. In my eyes, this book has all the words and and all the answers to the questions you didn't even know you had. It is like they are questions in the words you couldn't form. It helped me to form my faith around what I had been taught, what i believed and the way I saw this book. Some people may not take it this far, but I certainly read this book at a very crucial time entering my young adult professional life.
I think everyone can really benefit from reading this book, young adult and up. I think that if I had read it much before my 20's, however, that I might have written off much of the book and not put as much thought into it. I think men and women alike can truly take something from this book, don't be afraid to read the unknown.
Some may have a general opinion about a "religious book." I say toss that notion aside and take a deep breath and begin reading something that you will not want to put down, something that will make you think without you even realizing it, and something that will no doubt change the way you think about certain things.
