After seeing Faust and Nosferatu, I am seeing Murnau's style is quite stunning. For some reason I'm more attracted to Fritz Lang's style but Murnau is really amazing. I'm still going with the new Kino version of Nosferatu as my fav Murnau film.

Those are definitely his most epic and expressionistic films, but his skills were more varied than Lang's and he could take on any subject matter in any genre. You have to check out "Sunrise" and "Tabu".
All of them but "Tabu" which was restored by Image Entertainment. They're definitely his best films from where I stand. "The Last Laugh" is also quite good, though I haven't seen the more recent restoration.

I have Faust as my next Netflix DVD, thanks! They don't have Tabu yet. I also have Schindler's List. :) Since the weather is so crappy here, it's a great day to write reviews and post them on Lunch.

Yes, by Image. Thanks.

"Faust" is probably the most visually innovative silent film other than "Metropolis". It's just stunning. You'll love it.
