Top Cities I'd like to live in for 6 months of my life

  • Feb 23, 2010
I've always had a dream... to have lived in each continent (other than Antarctica) for 6 months of my life. I've done that with Asia & North America. 4 more continents/cities to go. Namely, South America, Africa, Australia and Europe. 3 in Southern Hemisphere, 1 in Northern Hemisphere.
Tokyo (city)
Although it is in Asia and there is no need for me to live here, I want to live here. I love Tokyo. It's the most exciting city as far as I'm concerned. Lots to do and learn, despite the fact I've been here more than 2 dozens time. I can never get tired of the city life here, be it food, shopping, or its lifestyle. Even seeping coffee here is a luxury. Tokyo rocks!!!

Kyoto (city)
If I'm in Tokyo, I won't mind undergoing the training as a Geisha. It's tough, I know. But it's elegant and fascinating. Everything in Kyoto spells culture and surely that's something good to pick up!
In Barcelona, one gets to infuse oneself in its artistic atmosphere. Gaudi, Gaudi, Gaudi... ah, what a fine city this is! Barcelona is warm, charming and fun!
Apartments in Retiro (a barrio or neighborhood)
Well, tango is the way, what else? Learning to speak Spanish would be fun and a lot cheaper than in Spain! I love the food in Argentina too! An added bonus is the awesome sceneries in Argentina and also pure nature!
My favorite city in North America. It's not only great for shopping and entertainment, it has the most beautiful national parks and nature all at its backyard! What more can anyone ask for?

One of the most beautiful cities in the world. Capetown is a botanist's paradise. Nature and its beautiful coastal sceneries are Capetown's attraction! When it comes to food, ostrich steaks, anyone? Take it from me, it's yummy!!!
Lovely European city with one of the finest cuisines in the world. Brussels is a great place to station oneself in Europe with all the fine connections to the rest of Europe.
One of the most exotic cities in the world. Bangkok is not only hot, it is filled with spicy food. Over the years, Bangkok has turned its skyline into one of the most modern and yet maintaining the traditional values and culture in its society. An excellent place to retire and certainly one of the cheapest in the world to retire in. I've high hopes for Bangkok and may well make my way there in no time!
Well, there isn't that many choices constituting the status of a real city in Australia or New Zealand. Melbourne is a pleasant city enough with many parallels to Toronto. Good food, clean city living and pleasant temperature are some of its attractions.
Interlaken, Switzerland
It is not very convenient to live in Interlaken but since Zurich or Geneva is simply a station or two away, it's ok to be staying in Interlaken. A great location for summer as well as for the winter. Interlaken feels heavenly and a cocoon away from the rest of the world's problem! A neat place to be in, especially during those retirement years! One can hike or ski to one's content in Interlaken!

Yeah the food is good in Brussels and Fantastic Beer and Chocholate and Great Architecture and as a Great bonus Herge, Tintin's creator was from there, but oh my, the Belgians they must be the most miserable people on the planet. I do not think you would be happy there for 6 months.
