A shopping experience for the imagination.

Anthropologie is my candy store. I walk in and covet everything I see. That includes the clothes, jewelry, handbags, shoes, home decorations, gifts, the store displays, the dressing room, the tissue they wrap the purchases in…I could go on and on.

The store and the products make my imagination swirl. It's a bit like getting lost in a foreign world. There is so much to look at and explore. It's much more than shopping, Anthro is an experience.  Their style is vintage with a modern-day twist. I would even say a "feminine-romantic" vogue.  All of their offerings are highly detailed, eclectic, funky and truly unique. I don't see their sweaters on every girl in town. I like that. Who wants to be just like everyone else?

The only drawback is the price. Mucho expensivo, especially if you would like one of everything. However, secretly, I believe their brand commands their high-priced goods. Anthro uses repetitive design of one object (i.e. a lamp, newspapers, old books, light bulbs, flowers) to create creative and larger than life displays. Their in-store ambience makes the clothing and gifts even more attractive. They've have effectively transported their customers to a high-class vintage market where I believe that if I buy a hand towel decorated with birds in bold colors (for $25.00) I really am a bit cooler and a bit more bohemian. It's all about who you want to be and what style you want to project.

If you haven't checked out their website, I highly recommend it. It's the best example of e-commerce I've seen. They've effectively incorporate multi-media to make the shopping experience entertaining. Their photos are creative and fabulous. They present you with all of their categories, as well as gift ideas and complete outfits.

Go ahead, give fabulous gifts and play dress-up.

Love your review! You put everything perfectly. These comments make me want to make a run to Nordstroms too!

omg my best friend is an assistant manager @ nordys and I literally went nuts yesterday.. I kept having to say "i don't NEEEEED this..." and I totally covered the return policy on my review of nordstrom!!!! Oh and by the way, just to clarify.. in my first comment... the "Everything is so cute. It's one of those stores that actually inspire individual style......." was towards anthropologie.. I just realized it sounded a little ambiguous. :)

I think Nordstroms is great! I adore their shoe department. Their customer service is outstanding. Have you ever tried to return something there? It couldn't be easier. You usually don't even need a receipt.

For a point in my life, I chose anthropolgie as the one store I would shop at for the rest of my life if I had to choose .... then I changed my mind to nordstrom because that's much more realistic. Everything is so cute. It's one of those stores that actually inspire individual style.. like you look at something and go "OMG this would be soo cute with a brown belt" ...

It’s an underrepresented favorite of mine but, I have to admit, I am completely obsessed with Anthropologie. Every time I enter one of their stores, I can’t help but feeling somewhat at home. Maybe it’s the fact that they sell everything from candles, to dinner sets to beauty and accessories but I often feel like I want to pop a bottle of bubbly and relax on the coastal sand when entering any Antho location.    The beauty of Anthropologie is not only does it have that …

Seriously, need I say anything?!  This store is perfection, from it's inventory to the marketing and branding.  It just doesn't get much better!  The moment I step through their doors or open up a catalog, I am transported to another world.  My ultimate dream would be to create an Anthrolopologie for little girls.  We can all dream, right;)
