A must-have for Glowing Skin!

There are so many facial products out there: moisturizing lotions, anti-wrinkle creams, acne cleaners, age-defying serums, clear skin toners, and eye creams. But none of these well marketed skin products really work if you aren’t exfoliating your face before using them.

Enter Dr. Brandt Microdermabrasion in a Jar, the exfoliating product I swear by! Not only does this product polish away dead skin cells revealing fresh, young skin, but it makes your skin glow. The product is exactly what it is advertises, an at home, self-applied microderm formula. The cream contains a variety of botanicals including chamomile, aloe and hibiscus flowers to heal, soothe and moisturize the skin, Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A) that promotes cell renewal, grapefruit extract, Vitamin E for softness, hydrating honey and diamond shaped crystals for skin removal.

The container is an easy to use jar with a removable top. To use first dampen your skin with warm water. Using a small dollop of cream gently massage the product onto your entire face (I avoid the eye area). For best results move your hands in small circular motions over the skin (you can also use this on your neck). After a minute or two of massaging, rinse your face, pat dry and add a moisturizing cream (or follow your traditional skin regime).

The product guidelines recommend using this only once or twice a week with three days in between each use. I use it about three times a week and find that my skin can handle it. It does cause slight redness after use (and of varying degree depending on how hard you rub), but it will not impede you from leaving the house like a dermatologist microderm might.  I recommend using it first thing in the morning or at night before bed.

I have found the more consistent I am at using this product the better the results, the softer my skin, the more consistent my skin tone and the more effective my other skin regime products seem to be. Hooray!

Overall: Easy to use, not too harsh or abrasive. The cost factor may be the only drawback; one jar is around $75.00. Though it is pricey, the contents of the jar will last for months. And this is much cheaper than buying a package of microderm procedures that will cost hundreds of dollars.

So here’s to glowing skin!

This product has done wonders to my skin! Its really gentle too, I had terrible acne, but I was still able to use this about every other week, it definitely helped clear my skin. Now I am taking accutane, and use it two times a week. I've had the jar for 6 months, and its still half way full.

Great review and you always manage to tap into the vain actor side of me and threaten the Midwest "man" side of me when I consider using these things! :)

Thanks, Jeff! I didn't know you are an actor. You have to fill me in on that. And, hey, there's nothing wrong with looking good, right?!:)

Yeah, I'm an actor. That's why I have the time to spend on sites like this. Also, it's FREE to spend time on sites like this which fits into an actor's budget! :)
