Hey Bill, glad to see that you discovered the Northern California Wine community.  You should check out the California's Central Coast Wine Scene community, too!  Whatever existing reviews you have that you feel would be great in those communities, you can add them by clicking on "Add to a Community" underneath the title of any of your reviews.  Cheers! :)
April 05, 2010
Yep checked into them as well, makes me considering opening my own community. The "add to community" is a fantastic tool. Thanks for your help.
April 05, 2010
Glad you like it! And yes, you should totally start your own community! Like a CuveeCorner one, or some other themed one, like wines for seafood, or wines from a certain region :)

Awesome, how about you? That gentlemen opposite of you must keep ya pretty busy? Just got back from a trip a few weeks ago and worked a wine bottling line last weekend. Yeah that Quintessa review sounds interesting, I have some of their wines they sent to me as samples, which I still have not opened and I have a Montes tasting I still need to write up. Then this week I've been invited to a swanky new wine bar here in San Diego @ the Ivy Hotel downtown. Just becoming Mr. A-list for invites, but not too sure how?
September 28, 2009
Well, because you're Mr. Go-To for wine and you're cool ;p I'm so glad to hear that life's treating you well. So good to see you back on here! How do you like all of our new features?
September 30, 2009
Very good new features and they are very helpful! and hey thanks for compliment, but my wife somehow has a way different perspective on the coolness factor. But wives keep us (men) anchored in reality! Thanks again though! I'll write a review about the Ivy Ultra Wine Lounge and Bar, boy they've a LOT of bad press online! But I will objective as possible, cheers!
September 28, 2009
Hey Bill- how've you been? Busy with the Examiner? Thought you might enjoy @Jon_Wollenhaupt's review of Quintessa wines and I wanted to let you know that we miss you around here! Hope all is well!

Hey Bill! I thought you might want to check out my Best Warm-Weather Wines $10 and under list, I'd love to see what you think or better yet what your list would be! You are the Wine King in all of our wine communities as well, congrats!

hey drog, I'm not very familiar with them as I do most of my wine shopping @ brick n motars. While I do get some wine shipped from a couple places where I am on their "allocation" list. I did a quick search of a Chianti they are offering and they have a good price. But what you have to watch out for is "shipping charges" which tend to vary greatly for the same weight packages and will bring the price per bottle back up to what you can find in a store near you. So if you are interested in buying online, then I would look for places which offer free shipping on purchases of six or more bottles. Frankly though this is not the time of the year to be purchasing wine which will be shipped, it is much too hot! If you need to buy some wine during the warm months then head to your local wine store which has appropriate climate control and weekend tasting schedules. This way you try before you buy and skip the shipping charges and the aggrevation of heated red wines and waiting for your delivery because you have to sign for the package. Hope this info was helpful! Cheers!
July 10, 2009
Thanks for the info...I much prefer to shop at regular stores as well. Good point about the shipping. Do you mind if I ask what allocation lists you are on?
July 10, 2009
No problem at all, I'm currently with Justin, Kosta Browne, Sea Smoke and Patricia Green. Locally, I purchase wine from Leonesse and Eagles Nest Winery (who makes a great ruby style port). Past contributors to my wine collection, Testarossa, Byington, Rusack and V. Sattui. who I still love and admire their wines but I periodically shift my tastes.
July 10, 2009
I buy direct from Sea Smoke, Carlisle, Merry Edwards and Quilceda Creek. I tried Kosta Brown, but it seems like their prices have shot up due to the high scores they got. I go easy on the Sea Smoke and Quilceda though. I will check out the others you mentioned. Thanks
July 10, 2009
You have good taste in wine my friend! I would be drinking Quilceda Creek but find them a little expensive. I am willing to pay for well made Pinot, as you can see PN really dominates my list. If you like Pinot for a good price you may want to check out WillaKenzie. I am thinking seriously about getting back in their club, Triple Black Slopes comes to mind!
July 10, 2009
I will definitely check it out. Thanks for the recommendation. I don't buy much of the Quilceda, except they make a delicious red table wine for around $30. It is great. I only get a few of the cabs each year.
