Zoya Yummy is creamy blue polish that looks fabulous and wears for ages!
Mar 3, 2010
Pros: Very pretty shade, only one coat needed, lasts for a long time, no chemicals
Cons: A bit thick so two or more coats can take a while to dry.
The Bottom Line: Zoya Yummy Nail Polish is a very pretty light/medium shade of blue that is creamy and flattering. It wears for ages without chemicals. Great for all ages!
I just bought several bottles of Zoya nail polishes that are lighter and fun for spring that I assume will eventually arrive. I tried out Zoya Yummy Polish first because it really did look yummy in the bottle.
This color and this brands are both excellent. I really liked the results.
About the Product
Yummy is described as a tasty blue cream and has an opacity factor of 5 which is the highest meaning this not a sheer polish at all. It is free from many chemicals and can be used safely even by pregnant women avoiding fumes. In fact, a pregnant woman invented this brand of nail products. The packaging Zoya Yummy Polish comes in a angular Italian glass bottle with a black top. The brush is made in Spain and is the perfect size to apply this somewhat thick polish. The color is very creamy and a light to medium blue color. It is part of the candy collection and it has no shimmer or sparkle at all. It is a cream and one coat completely covers my nails. My Experience
I like Zoya polishes in general so all I had to do was make color choices from the very vast array of shades. Yummy jumped out at me as a really pretty, but not traditional, shade of blue that isn't too "strange" for a 45 year old woman to wear yet is not the usual red, pink, or plum shades that I have amassed.
Applying the polish is really easy because the brush gives smooth, even coverage. Because this polish is very high in opacity, it seems much thicker than sheer polishes I have used. I don't need a second coat. One completely covers my nails and gives them a beautiful shine. If I happen to apply another coat, I have to be super careful for a while, even after applying drying drops, because the polish takes a while to dry.
I usually use Zoya's Get Even Basecoat under the polish and their Armor Topcoat and the polish lasts for ages. For me, getting good wear from nail polish is nearly impossible. If I can get past the drying period of the products, I am good to go for at least a week or 10 days with this polish and even then, I can touch up small chips easily and get a couple of weeks of wear. I am very tough on my hands and polishes usually last a few days before chipping and peeling. Zoya Yummy Polish is thicker and that could be why it has better staying power. Or maybe it's just better than many brands I own. Whatever the reason, the color is exactly as shown on the website and in the bottle and the wear is fabulous.
This polish alone, without a topcoat has shine to it but isn't megawatt. With a top coat applied, it's both creamy and super shiny and stays that way. I really like this shade and will use it a lot in the warmer months or whenever I want to lighten up with a delish looking light/medium blue hue.
This polish can be purchased on the Zoya website or on a number of other sites that sell the brand. I don't know where it is sold offline although friends have said they have seen Zoya products in nail salons. A one half ounce bottle is $7.00 (Up from last year's $6.00 a bottle). It's well worth the cost as far as I am concerned because the color is great and the wear is amazing.
Conclusion Zoya Yummy Polish is great on fingers or toes. It's a really pretty creamy light to medium blue that doesn't look garish at all. One coat is all that is needed to get the look and, once dried, the polish lasts a long time before chipping or fading. I also like that the chemicals that many polishes have in them are removed from this polish. It's a healthy alternative for your nails and for you! 4 stars. I took off one because the polish can get "gloppy" if I use two or more coats. But then again, I don't need to!
