The last time I was in Paris everyone I was with wanted to go to the top of the Eiffel Tower to see the view of the city. Going to the top of the Eiffel Tower wasn't very appealing to me for a couple reasons.
I did some research on "Best views of Paris" and I found there were many places that gave you excellent views of Paris. I decided to go with the Sacre Coeur Basilica. It sounded cool, I had heard of it before and when I asked the concierge at my hotel about places to eat around Sacre Coeur he had so many suggestions it was ridiculous.
I was sold and hopped on the first Metro over to Sacre Coeur. When I arrived there were a ton of people there, which discouraged me and made me think this might have been a bad choice. I figured with all these people hanging out and standing around that the line to get to the top was going to be long. Fortunately there was no line at all. I bought my ticket, which was a fraction of the price of going to the top of the Eiffel Tower and started climbing the stair.
At the top the views were breath taking. I could see the entire city with a panoramic view that was second to none. I could see everything from, the Eiffel Tower to Notre Dame to Les Invalides. I literally stayed up on the top of Sacre Coeur for over an hour just starring off at the view. Quick Tip There are lots of shops and little restaurants around Sacre Coeur Basilica. Great food and a good place to get souvenirs for cheap.
