Horror, science fiction, or the just plain strange--that's what you're gonna get here. Again in NO PARTICULAR ORDER.

An absolutely brilliant blend of science fiction and comedy set in the old west and starring Bruce Campbell! What more could anyone ask for? Of course it was too good to last.

Like so many great series, Buffy couldn't maintain the incredible standard of excellence it set in its first 4 years, but even when it was operating at 75% it was still a fantastic show.

There had never been anything like this on the tube before. Thank God they learned far enough in advance of their cancellation that they were able to tie up all their loose storylines!

One of the best shows ever to spin off from any series. The vampire with a soul is also a great comic book series, in many respects better than Buffy!

Xena paved the way for everything we see today when it comes to strong capable women kicking ass on the tube. Unfortunately the show almost completely lost its sense of humor somewhere around season 4 and began focusing on its notorious "subtext". Still two of my favorite episodes were produced during this time; "In Sickness and in Hell" and "Old Ares Had a Farm", the latter episode is the one that I like to think of as the series' true finale.

Supposedly a kids' show. Don't knock it if you haven't tried it. It's clever and very entertaining.

It went on waaay too long, but in its glory days it was a thing of beauty.

One Saturday night we tuned in to watch "Secret Agent" and all of a sudden it turned into "The Prisoner"! How cool was that? "Who's Number One?" "You are, Number Six."

A girl gets hit by a toilet falling out of the sky and becomes one of the grim reapers. Okay. Put me down for that one.

Weird and wonderful, and doomed to cancellation. If you blinked you missed it. But it is available on DVD!

When it was good it was very, very good...but when it was bad it was horrid.

While the monster of the week format did get a bit wearisome after a while (mostly because of the show's micro budget) Kolchak was a milestone in tv history, AND the inspiration for THE X-FILES.

They couldn't have killed this series more efficiently if they had tried--they started by airing the 3rd episode first so that viewers were guaranteed to be totally confused. Good going!

Rest in peace Kevin Smith. What an adversary he was for both Hercules and Xena.

Scott Bakula was great in this series. I'm not sure it would have worked as well with anyone else.

Far more adult than its competition, THE MUNSTERS, it brought those hilarious Charles Addams cartoons to life. John Astin was the perfect Gomez.

Lance Henriksen as an F.B.I profiler with a special gift for getting into the heads of the nastiest of the nasty--a real departure for him since he was usually the nasty one. This makes my list on the strength of 2 episodes in particular; "Somehow Satan Got Behind Me' and "Jose Chung's Doomsday Defense". Both were uncharacteristically comedies, with the Jose Chung episode being an hilarious attack on Scientology.

Preferably the years with Diana Rigg as the adventurous Emma Peel, my hero.

Oh, I forgot, what about "Kung Fu"? That was one of my favorites. Too bad about David Carradine but at least he died happy! Faster Grasshopper!

Nope. I was a Bruce Lee fan and it really galled me that Bruce was rejected for the part in the very show that he and Sterling Silliphant pitched to Warner Brothers because he was "too short and too Chinese". I did watch it once or twice, but Carradine was just so awkward that I couldn't take it.

I did sort of like "The Man From U.N.C.L.E." and now that I think about it "I Spy", but the other shows, eh, not so much.

WONDERFALLS didn't even make it through a full season, but DEAD LIKE ME ran for a couple of years on one of the pay channels. I only saw it when they started releasing the DVDs.

Ooh, this is either the best news or the worst news ever... Apparently Christopher Nolan ("Following", "Memento", "Insomnia", "Batman Begins" "The Dark Knight", and "The Prestige") is working on a film version of "The Prisoner" and there may also be a new TV mini-series. A TV miniseries remake is slated to air on AMC in 2009,[3] and Christopher Nolan has been widely reported to be considering a film version.[4]

Not necessarily, at least as far as the potential movie goes, Nolan's not yet a made a film that has earned less than a 4 in my books (most have been a 5). It's the idea of a TV reboot that worries me.

How much a film earns means nothing to me--wait, on second thought , it does. It's usually the sign of a movie I don't want to see. I AM positive that I don't want to see a tv reboot though. That much I AM positive of.

What does money have to do with anything? I was talking about the ratings as far as his movies go. They've all been 5 except for "Insomnia" which I gave a 4. Out of curiosity, who do you think you would pick to play Agent 6 (and you can't say Patrick McGoohan).

Naturally, but it's already airing on AMC and the movie is still likely to happen. I think that Guy Pearce or Russell Crowe would be the obvious choices.

Lovely list, Queenie. Almost every single one of these are my favorites regardless of genre, though I'm not familiar with "Millennium" or "Sledge Hammer!" Really, I don't know what more to say, except... Bloody well done! : )

I can understand the Sledge Hammer thing, but you didn't catch a single episode of Millenium? It was created by the guy who did the X-Files.

Nope, people always want to strangle me for it, but I was never an "X-Files" fan either. Too predictable and unintentionally funny for my tastes.

The first couple of years were very good. I'm thinking of doing a list of my favorite episodes from various shows. The X-Files list would include "Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose" and "Jose Chung's From Outer Space". I didn't find them to be so predictable as to be boring.
