The fictional barbarian warrior of Conan has appeared in no less than three major motion pictures (portrayed by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jason Momoa), two animated series for children, a live action series for adults, in comics (originally published by Marvel and now published by Dark Horse), and in more novels and short stories than I can keep track of. For 80 years he has been reinterpreted frequently and in numerous mediums. What is your favorite depiction of the sword-swinging barbarian?

The first Arnold film was pretty good (funny that came out before The Terminator so Arn was viewed as another Steve Reeves, i.e. not a real actor). Was disappointed with the one with Wilt Chamberlain. Didn't he also play Conan in the Red Sonja film? Or did he just play a Conan clone?

Aside from the books, the black and white comic magazine called SAVAGE SWORD OF CONAN. it goes forth with several adaptations and goes into his history. Some Marvel comics also adapted stories by Howard, Dark Horse had done also, but they had some issues with them in the early days. I have to say, the 80's King Conan and Conan the King were pretty good renditions of sword and sorcery.
