Pros: Will whisk you off to a wonderful fantasy world and never bring you back.     Cons: Don't start reading it during finals week.     The Bottom Line: Middle-earth is a very nice place. I suggest you vacation there sometime.     Over 50 years, 50 million sold copies and many times that number in readers, it's amazing that J. R. R. Tolkien's much-beloved Lord of the Rings trilogy is still being read and enjoyed by so many people around …
