Lunch does not condone content or language that is obscene, offensive, or slanderous. We do not allow harassment or hateful behavior. Lunch is based on courtesy and respect. It's a space to share useful, constructive ideas and conversation. Lunch is not the place to start flame wars or post content for the sake of provocation. We believe in the community's ability to keep common courtesy in mind when creating Lunch content and communications.
As a general guideline, it's important to keep in mind that Lunch is a community designed for the creation and discovery of genuinely useful information. Any review that contains useful information to the community at large is acceptable and encouraged at Lunch. What we want to avoid are reviews that are deliberately obscene, malicious, or lacking in informational value to the average Lunch user. A good rule of thumb is, "Does the reader feel smarter or more well-informed after reading it."
There are, of course, caveats to that guideline. Absolutely unacceptable subject matter includes pornographic material (including but not exclusive to nudity solely intended for sexual provocation); extreme vulgarity for the sole sake of being vulgar, including excessive and unnecessary use of offensive language; bigotry and intolerance directed toward race, ethnicity, sexual identity, religious values, or physical and cultural difference in general; and reviews that attempt to attack a subject matter rather than engage in a respectful discourse. Posting copyrighted material and other content that you did not write as your own is also absolutely prohibited.
Content containing any of the above may be removed from the site without prior warning at Lunch's sole discretion and the member's Lunch membership may be terminated.
The manner in which the subject matter is presented is a key to determining it's usefulness to the community. Controversial subject matter is by no means completely off-limits at Lunch, but approaching such topics with a delicate, informed, and balanced viewpoint is necessary. Back to FAQs Directory
