About Me

I'd like to share what I know about: Video Games, Comic Books, Horror, Social Media, Writing and Literature

I'd like to discover more about: Graphic Design, Writing, Relationships, Parenting through Divorce, Marketing

I often hide behind a pithy Douglas Adams quote or maybe some song lyrics. I guess it makes sense that much of what I share is reviews of things I like (or don't).

People who are first getting to know me are often surprised to learn that I'm a father of three daughters, the eldest of whom of is a senior in high school.  I don't … more

Perfect Circle
"Ghosts don't do things to you. Ghosts make you do unspeakable things to yourself."    Here's what Sean Stewart's newest novel is not: it is not predictable, it is not trite, and it …

Dell Streak 7
I knew it almost right away - this little baby was going to be trouble. Just the kind of trouble I'd been looking for.      I loved the look of her, that's for sure. Slipping …

(500) Days of Summer
Don't be fooled by the opening narration. (500) Days of Summer is very much a love story. Just not the kind we're used to seeing.      Come to think of it, the title's …

Alison Wonderland
Alison Wonderland is something of an anomaly.      It has an imaginative, sometimes magical story, but one without a strong direction. It covers a lot of ground in very few pages. …

Pandora Online Radio
I'm in love...again. All I need is a WiFi connection and my Android tablet and there it is - from music I've loved for years to gems I've never heard. The Pandora mobile app ties in with my …

Hold It Against Me
I was a little shocked to hear that Britney Spears performs 'Hold It Against Me,' the latest assault on our ears being overplayed on the radio. See, I think Britney is generally good at what she does. …

The Green Hornet (2011 movie)
'The Green Hornet' was decent fun, but to be perfectly honest, most of the best parts had already been seen in the trailer, and the rest of the movie was mostly ways to stitch the cool scenes together. …
posted a Quick Tip about Deadgirl. January 26, 2011
There is a girl, and she is dead - a genuinely disturbing concept that makes for a seriously compelling movie. 'Deadgirl' is just graphic enough, but not over the top. Perhaps the only weakness was a …

Netflix on Wii
Just an update to my earlier review of Netflix on the Wii - now you can download an application that renders the Netflix Wii disc unnecessary. The app is free and the interface is roughly the same, without …

A charming and original musical duo. They work with both music and video and somehow manage to shatter most illusions about how music is made while making it look pretty magical. Brilliant.

Hey Rich!  I saw your comment in @Adrianna's post about badges.  Would you mind telling me which Stephen King books that you reviewed?  There might be duplicate entries of those books that are preventing you from unlocking the badge.  If that's the case, once I merge them, you'll get a shiny SK badge! :D

Hi devora - It might be shorter to list which is Kings books I haven't reviewed! ;) Off the top of my head, Ive posted reviews for all 7 Dark Tower books, 'Lisey's Story,' Carrie,' The Shining,' ''Salem's Lot,' 'Duma Key,' 'Under the Dome,' and 'Blockade Billy.' I can look through for others too if you need me to. Most (maybe all?) of those reviews were ported in from Amazon when I joined, so I'm wondering if there's a problem with how those get counted in the Lunch system? Just a thought. Thanks for looking - I appreciate it!
