Gosh I had a lot of Toronto eats. So many in fact I didn't even get to record all of them, like Stampede Burger, whose sweet potato fries were the best I've ever eaten, thanks in part to their amazing Stampede Sauce (which I must know the recipe of! Zuzu, it's been haunting me, go and use your womanly charms on the cooks there and get me the recipe for the stampede sauce! …

Peas and Thank You: Simple Meatless Meals the
When I get a cookbook, I look through the recipes and try a few that sound good to me. And if there are five or ten recipes I will add to my life recipe file, I consider the book a keeper. I'm pretty picky. If a recipe book has only two or three I want to try, I don't buy it. If I'm given the book with just a few keeper recipes I usually will copy down the recipe, put it in …

Veganomicon: The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook
What I like best is that the recipes are made out of real ingredients instead of relying on egg replacers, fake meats and such. I have nothing wrong with those products and enjoy the occasional Tofurkey kielbasa, but such foods (processed) certainly aren't healthy on a daily basis.

Alba sea algae facial scrub
I've been reading the labels of my bath & beauty products for a couple of years now and trying to be a more aware, proactive consumer. I care about where my money goes, what my money supports, what I put on or in my body and what the process a product went through to wind up in my house (including animal testing). It's not as easy - or as hard - as one might think. It just …

Truwhip
Okay, the caveat right out of the gate: this is not a “healthy” food, this is a “not so scary form of something we usually get full of chemical scariness” food, and one which doesn’t even really qualify as “food” but more like “edible substance. I know, with an endorsement like that, you really want to keep reading, right? I’m talking about “Truwhip,&rdquo …

Quickie vegan sandwich idea: whole grain bread with horseradish mustard, Veganaise, fresh basil, sliced tomato and avocado. YUM! Sort of like a vegan Caprese salad. On bread.

Cleaning
Baking soda makes an awesome scrub for the tub! Just sprinkle the baking soda on the tub, use a damp cloth to scrub, then rinse or use another damp cloth to wipe the baking soda off. It's cheap, easy, and eco-friendly!      How do you guys clean with baking soda?

Bach's Rescue Remedy Pastilles
I've been wanting to try Bach's Rescue Remedy for a while, and I chose the pastilles because they looked the most convenient. So far, I can't really tell if they are having any effect. I was wondering if folks had tried these or other Bach's products and what your experiences were. I don't feel like they're doing any harm, but I can't tell if they're helping …

Knitting
I love to knit but haven't done so in two years since my baby was born. As soon as she is old enough to understand how it is done, I'm teaching her so that we can do it together. :) So if you're childless, enjoy knitting while you have the time because it will be a while until you'll be doing it again!

Daiya is one of the best vegan cheeses out there right now, no question. It's reasonably priced, soy free, tastes delicious, and melts wonderfully!

Veganomicon: The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook
My favorite vegan cookbook. Great recipes of all sorts. The book isn't too fancy or expensive, but funny and informative. And recipes like the potato salad have fooled my non-veg friends who have yet to taste the difference.

Veganomicon: The Ultimate Vegan Cookbook
First off, I would like to state that I am not a vegan.  I am a vegetarian from Wisconsin who finds the idea of veganism difficult to wrap my mind around (what about the cheese??).       With these feelings aside, any of Isa's cookbooks are wonderful additions to a kitchen.  Rather than using highly processed ingredients (mainly meat substitutes) that a lot …
