This is a community for people who know what good food tastes like, but aren't above eating a hot dog or burger. ...Especially if that hot dog is wrapped in smoked, artisan bacon and that burger is made of kobe beef ;D
I was a little thrown off the first time I laid eyes on Pepsi Next. It came to my attention while I was in Saint Louis, and so my first, incredulous reaction was to turn to Kevin (my friend who I was there to visit) and ask "Did Pepsi learn nothing from the whole New Coke fiasco?" "That was my first thought too. It's New Coke all over again," Kevin … more

This may be worth going to New York (again) for! I mean a $ 69 footlong on a pretzel bun and has been confirmed as the most expensive hotdog on the planet! I love hotdogs so I'll have to try this next time I am in the Big Apple.... see link: http://screen.yahoo.com/the-world-s-most-exp...e-hot-dog-28868709.html;_ylt=Aop8lHZbnMSnx083cJbVCqpZc0Iv;_ylu=X3oDMTJkcGdvZHQwBG1pdANVUFAgUmVsYXRlZCB … more
When I saw the ingredients of this sandwich, I went out of my way to make it to Panera before the breakfast cutoff time. I was very disappointed. Though this sandwich has egg whites, spinach, tomotoes and pesto it was greasy with that same rubber egg whites that they put on Dunkin Donuts sandwiches. I was expecting fresh egg whites on the sandwich. My usual breakfast sandwich is egg whites, muenster … more
As of late I drifted towards being the casual drinker. However, there was a time when I sat down and splurged on various types and during then, I have come across several beers that would go on to be favorites, and some would go on to being the most hated. No beer in existence would fit in the latter category better than the green bottled lager. Up to this day, I haven't come across … more

This stuff is a little expensive. I mean 7 slices for $ 25-30, but it is well worth it! It is the kind of sashimi that is so smooth and so succulent that I cannot get enough of this stuff. I usually have it with a side of hot steamed rice. So good!
One does not just walk into Old Town Pasadena Happy Hour Week! Dissection must be made; careful analysis of each and every one of the twenty participating restaurants' happy hour menus. Charts were draw. Lists were made. Itineraries were key! I take Happy Hour very seriously. Opportunity to have the first Happy Hour Hop came with my friend Melissa's … more

Best known as a chip dip, but also good as a regular old condiment for salads, hot dogs, burgers, and sandwiches. I prefer the hotter salsas because they have more taste and, to me, they represent what I think salsa should be.
When my friend Steffie Love loves something she will make damn sure everybody knows it and try to spread the infection of curiosity throughout her friends so that we will in turn learn to love whatever it is she loves - bar, book, movie, restaurant, a particular dish - and then lives in the hopes that we will one day indulge with her. Such is the case with Luna Park - a restaurant off … more
My mom and I won a raffle at the ACHA (Adults with Congenital Heart Defects Association) conference last April. The original win was for a condo in Colorado but, as we're not ski/snow/cold people, we swapped it for a luxurious suite at the Coronado Beach Resort instead! My friend Annie and I went up on Sunday the 19th to check in ~ Steffie joined me on Tuesday and Mom on Wednesday. It … more

I came here before for a drink, but I figured I'd scout the place again since I may need to take someone out to dinner soon. It is quite close to where my condo-apartment is, so I can just crawl home if I get too drunk. The place also has a great selection of dishes and if you are vegetarian or vegan, they'll prepare you something special if you don't fancy anything in the menu. … more
The Taste of Tomorrow is a fascinating excellently researched book about the future of food. The ideas in this book gives me hope that the food of the future will be delicious and healthy. Schonwald spent three years doing research for this book. This book really … more
For those buyers looking to purchase an attractive, quality set of cookware that doesn't have a non-stick finish, I feel the Anolon Nouvelle Copper 10-Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set would be an excellent choice. My wife and I have been using it frequently ever since it arrived, and on the whole we are quite happy with it. We find it very similar to an earlier set we own, the Anolon Nouvelle … more

I like McDonald's especially when I crave for fried food. French fries is good but I only like them with chilli (especially the sweet and hot version; like Thai chilli) sauce and not ketchup. The only burger I eat is Filet-O-Fish and nothing else (oh, may be once in a blue moon the McChicken). McDonald is also great to have when I'm broke! Other than that, I've no idea what the … more

I went to this place sometime after New Year's day. I figured that it was worth a try since it had gotten good reviews from Yelp, Adobo Nation and was "Kagat Approved" (means worth biting into). http://www.myislarestaurant.com/ I really wasn't sure what to expect, I've been disappointed with a lot of Filipino restaurants and I wondered … more
You'll want to be very, very careful with this stuff, because it will one day kill you. I love the way deep-dish pizza is done - the sauce is the top of the pizza, and the actual topping is cooked into the deep bottom crust. I've had several kinds from a few different pizza places, and they were all superb. But the best was done by Giordano's.

The Great Syrupy Breakfast Food Competition - Pancakes vs. French Toast! First contender, the french toast, what you get when you mix together eggs with milk, dunk bread into it, and then cook the bread by skillet! Goes well with powdered sugar and syrup! Easy to make! Probably has restaurants dedicated to it in places! One of the great breakfast foods, who cares if it will slam your arteries shut! … more
Out of the two versions of Kitchen Nightmares out there (the UK and US versions), Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (UK version) is the best by a pretty wide margin. The UK version focus much more on the food and other problems with the restaurant that Gordon is trying to help, while the US version seems to be edited so that it's like a TV drama. Notable episodes from … more
A lot of sweetness, which is why they don't use ketchup. A vienna beef hot dog in a poppy seed bun with mustard, sweet relish, hot peppers, a dill pickle, celery salt, tomatoes, and onions. The only question is, just how the hell do you eat the damn thing?
