So, wait a minute.... There's an AMERICAN style of cooking? I fear trying to place the country's cuisine into a singular style simple called "American" because there's so much of it, from such a variety of different origin sources.

I think American food gets a bad rap because it's so familiar to all of us here in the ol' U.S. of A. It really is a great mash up of the numerous cultures that have come to call the United States home.
