Small, reddish-pink, with an attached straw, it may look like a mini coke can, but no, it is so much more. Enter Sofia Blanc de Blanc champagne in a can, Francis Ford Coppola’s tribute to his daughter. The packaging may seem counterintuitive to the common practice of drinking champagne (because do you really want to drink bubbly through a plastic straw?), but it becomes a kitschy, cute and easy habit especially on a girls night out.
In fact, bringing a Sofia six packs to a party has made me an instant hit on countless occasions. The champagne is easy to pour (no hassle with the cork), it is easy for a picnic or drinking by the pool (no glass equals no breakables); the petite size makes it the perfect stocking suffer or mini add-on to a gift. Plus there is something revolutionary and rebellious about drinking a sophisticated bubbly through a straw. The can is feminine, pink and fun. Oh, and the champagne really is good. Light, bubbly, not too dry, it is the perfect starter cocktail.
Just make sure you have it chilled before consuming and your friends are going to think you are the best thing since sliced bread.
