I can't get enough Paciugo! Located next to Hermosa Beach Comedy & Magic is the South Bay's best gelato shop. Gelato and sorbet made daily with some wonderful combinations that you would not think of. Chocolate Jalapeno? Black Pepper Olive Oil? Sea Salt Caramel? All sounded odd to me at first, however all of them ended up tasting great. My personal favorites are the Brown Sugar Waffle Cone, Crunchy Chocolate Swirl (Made with swirls of hazelnut laden Nutella!), Mint Chocolate Cookie (or Mint Chip), and Sea Salt Caramel.
Now you know what they're selling, how about who's doing the scooping? The mother/daughter proprietors Monien and Brittny have done an excellent job of hiring. The staff is always friendly, and quick to offer you countless samples which enable you to properly whittle down the broad selection. When my girlfriend and I became addicted about 10 months ago it was just as much due to the friendly staff as it was the friendly flavors.
I have been a Paciugo Gelato addict since this caffe opened. They have the most extensive gelato flavor selection. Everytime I go there, which is almost everyday, I discover new flavors. It's like a scavenger hunt for new flavors I have not experienced yet. It's a good thing that Paciugo serves their gelato in a cup that can hold more than three flavors.
