Nature does a wonderful job of giving viewers an overview of the wonders of parrots. Meet an opera singing Amazon, a budgie conversationalist and the amazing Alex, may he rest in peace. Parrot in the wild give you a splash of color and just as much personalities as the ones we love in our homes. However, it isn't always cupcakes and lemonade. Where parrots and humans collide disaster is frequently looming. Discover what happens to parrots who cannot emotionally or maybe rationally manage living with humans. Ponder what it means to be a farmer whose crop is being devastated by flocks of Australian parrots. The full story is fascinating.
This video is solely to blame for my fantasy of being a bird trainer for a living. Which may not be a bad thing... that fantasy became a reality. In fact, I highly recommend buying this video as a two-fer combined with "Extraordinary Birds," the follow up to this video. And when you watch it, take special note of the red-headed girl on stage with "Qasar" a grey parrot at Disney's Animal Kingdom. She was in heaven! (And she still is.)

This fun, visually rich program profiles a bird of magnificent color, both in plumage and personality. Adoring owners talk about their parrots, including one who loves opera and another who dunks cookies on demand! http://www.shopthirteen.org/product/show/29438
