A Nightmare on Elm Street
I watched this movie at an age I probably wasn't supposed to, But Freddy is my horror idol. Unlike Jason or Michael Myers, he is just crazy and the first ever film in the franchise was probably one of the scariest films of all time.
2
Friday the 13th
Having said that above, the Original Friday the 13th is pretty freakin scary as well unlike most of the other films in the Franchise.
3
Event Horizon (1997)
Probably THE scariest film I have ever seen. This movie will give you nightmares for years. Though it is a scifi film, this movie is scary as hell and I don't really know if I really ever want to watch it again.
4
The Haunting
I think that The Haunting is very underrated as a horror film because it was really good and very scary. Liam Neeson is very good in it.
5
Halloween
Like most other Horror films, the first Halloween film starring a young Jamie Lee Curtis was very good and pretty scary. The white mask never 100% did it for me though.
6
30 Days of Night (2007 movie)
Great Vampire flick with Vampires who actually want to kill people. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this yet cause I like it a lot. It's hard these days to find a Vampire film that's scary, but 30 Days of Night delivered.
7
The Amityville Horror
I was actually a big fan of the remake of the original. Ryan Reynolds, even though he is best at comedy, is really good in this film.
8
The Exorcism of Emily Rose - Unrated (Special
This is a good film because it is based on true events. It's not that the movie itself is scary, but it is psychologically scary. This film definitely gets inside your head a little.
9
Hostel
The first Hostel film is pretty screwed up and because of that, it's scary. Humans buying other humans to kill is just a creepy thought.
10
The Thing (1982 film)
I almost forgot about this film by John Carpenter. This movie is scary as hell and will really give you the willies! Kurt Russell is in this film and it is just really good!

Pretty good list, but I have to agree, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD is a no show?
