Looking for the right movie to buy for that movie loving family member for Christmas or Hanukkah? Look no further! Here is a list of films and TV shows I think are most owns for the Holiday season.
Definitely the top film of 2009 and quite possibly the best Blu-ray release of all time, Star Trek is a must own whether you love the franchise or not. With awesome 1080p video and Dolby Digital 7.1 TrueHD Surround, this is the ultimate Blu-ray. Viewers will also be impressed with the massive amounts of special features the disc has including a flight cadet simulator of the new Enterprise! Also includes a Digital Copy of the film.

Definitely a pick for the kids in the family, another must own Blu-ray. This is one for any Harry Potter fan to add to their collection. While the darkest of all the films, still a great one to watch by the fire during the holidays!

The funniest movie ever made and of the year finally comes out on Blu-ray right in time for the holidays. While definitely not one for the kids, this makes the perfect gift for that immature cousin of yours. Let's face it though, you love this movie just as much as him. The Hangover Blu-ray also comes with a Digital Copy of the film so you can take it with you where ever you go!

The amazing Pixar/Disney film that made everybody cry is finally out on Blu-ray! This is another great purchase for the kids as they will definitely eat this up. Not to mention while you're watching it with them how many times you'll be quoting Dug the talking dog.
While I personally didn't see this film, I heard nothing but good things about it. This might be a present better suited for Dad or Grandpa as they'll have fond memories of Clint Eastwood during his glory days in films like Magnum Force or The Rookie. Check out @woopak_the_thrill's review of the film here.
While this was not everyones favorite movie of the year, it had enough of a following to give the Blu-ray/DVD release some hype. The Blu-ray is the Director's Cut of the film which is very exciting for those who did like this film!

This was one of those love it or hate it type of films. While I didn't see it, this is definitely a must buy for your action movie junkie boyfriend who will watch anything that goes boom ;)
This is strictly for Blu-ray as this classic has been out on DVD forever. Three classic films were released back in early fall as part of Blu-ray's Sapphire collection: Braveheart, Gladiator and Forrest Gump. All of these are now must owns on Blu-ray as these films have all been digitally re-mastered in Hi-Def! I personally can't wait to see William Wallace in all his pride and glory in 1080p!

Already owning this on Blu-ray now, I can tell you that for anyone who loves this film as much as I do, Gladiator on Blu-ray is a must own this holiday season! While the film looked amazing back in 2000, the re-mastering of it is even more amazing! Strength and Honor! I should have a review of this up in the near future.
While watching this in Hi-Def won't make that much of a difference, Blu-ray does give that movie theater like quality and who doesn't want to see Forrest Gump in the theater again?
Again, not everyones favorite movie, but Transformers was meant to be watched in Hi-def and for any fan of this film, this is a must buy/must own Blu-ray release for the holidays. Check out my review of it for all the details. Roll out!

While I haven't seen an episode of the show, everyone is crazy over Mad Men. If you're as crazy as the rest of the country over this show, this is a must buy!
I just started watching this show and I want to own it all right now! Dexter is probably one of the most addicting shows on TV right now and if you haven't seen it, this deal on Amazon.com is an amazing way to get caught up this holiday season. After all, he is America's favorite serial killer!
I have yet to see this movie, but I heard really good things. I'm one of those people who has no problem buying a DVD or Blu-ray without ever seeing a film so this one will probably be on my list this year.
