Disney's newest and tallest mountain is also its best roller coaster.
The incredible detail that goes into telling the story starts with all of the artifacts that you see in the pre-ride queue. Once you are immersed in the expedition, you are treated to a unique roller coaster concept that includes stopping at the top of the mountain and changing direction. The high speed manuevering while going backwards, makes this a top notch thrill ride. Seeing the animatronic Yeti near the end is a great way to finish off this incredible roller coaster.
Pairing Rock 'n Roll with a high speed, mulit-inverting roller coaster was a brilliant idea. Adding the story of rushing along with Aerosmith through Hollywood in a stretch limosine to get to a cross town concert makes for an incredible attraction. This roller coaster really blasts off and gets up to 50 mph in just a matter of seconds. The whole ride is a real rush. A definite must-do attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios.
Space Mountain just celebrated its 35th birthday, but this recently renovated Roller Coaster still gets top billing in the Magic Kingdom.
The innovative concept to have an indoor roller coaster that operates in near darkness heightens the experience. Although you never exceed 30 mph, the darkness combined with the sharp turning track makes this ride a thrill for guests of all ages.
