Reviewing Monsters is an almost impossible task because I have to include a spoiler straight away (in the third paragraph of this review). Or maybe you can consider it a warning, because armed with this … more
Without a doubt Sherlock Holmes is one of the people I greatly admire, nevermind that he’s a fictional creation, and so reading The Beekeeper’s Apprentice by Laurie R. King is a sort of wish … more
I hate to lose my geek cred in admitting that I had never seen the original BBC production of Quatermass and the Pit, but honestly I never even knew it existed. Let me emphasize, however, that I have … more
It’s my bad luck to start reading Steve Hockensmith’s Holmes on the Range series, about two cowpokes who solve crimes in the Old West using the methods of Sherlock Holmes, … more
Comparing one book to another is a lazy way to review a book, but forgive me because there’s something about Michael Flynn’s writing that conjures up other writers. When I reviewed The … more
There are television shows and movies so great that the ending can never do it justice — think the updated Battlestar Galactica, Lost and Donnie Darko and then add The Lost Room to that list. Don’t … more
Who would have thought a third Pride and Prejudice and Zombies book would be so entertaining, but other than a few over the top moments, so I found it to be. And I realize that it’s really … more

That's interesting! I noticed that you post in SF Signal, if you're a reader of their site, there is a tab named Community which links to us. Their Community is on here and we host it. I hope that helps clear some confusion! And we're glad to have you here :)
Thanks for joining my Forbidden Planet community, which now has a planetary population of 188! I have tried to make the community more inclusive and general, including science fiction films (Dimension X to Inception and all films before and since), books and science fiction-based television programs. Star Trek and Fantasy belong to other communities.

Thank you very much. I hope I haven't goofed by including my review of Dreadfully Ever After. I did not know the boundaries of the community, but don't worry, I have lots of old school SF I can review.
No problem. If a topic appears that does not belong I'll usually take it off and let the writer know what happened. I have had that a few times, it's no problem. The Forbidden Planet takes all kinds of reviews as long as they're SF. :)
