About JuneAnn
I've always loved to read, mostly histories and biographies, but I've read lots of Hemingway and Austen. I like to read biographies of past giants in the publishing world, and, though it's unrelated and I haven't read his latest book, my favorite author is Noam Chomsky. I should add that my favorite history, above and beyond all I've ever read, is the Bible. I've only read it through three times (starting on my fourth time through now), but each time I find fascinating tidbits.
I've been in the newspaper industry for more than a decade (seems like longer), mostly as a copyeditor, but for the last four years as managing editor. I got into it to write, but in the end it seems I do very little writing.
I hope that on Lunch I find a lot of people who share my interests and have provocative opinions about literature and the world.
The most interesting, and yet perplexing, person in history, to me, is Francis Bacon. I'm currently editing a historical novel that I wrote about his rise and fall. It seems to have turned into a hobby because I always have to think about making money and the completion of my book is likely only a pipe dream.
