Two things that can really make my day are beer and Classic Rock. Combine them together and add in some really good food and we might just have a winner! I truly think I've found my new favorite place to eat in El Segundo. Sorry Richmond's Bar and Grill. Havana Sandwich Company it's been fun and Big Mike's I'll never forget your Philly Cheese Steak, but there's a new joint in town and I'm a lookin' and I'm a likin'!
First Experience
I'd have to admit, I was skeptical at first. I mean it's not often that a restaurant can pull off the whole "Beer Garden" thing in LA. Most of the time the food sucks and the crowd is shady but Rock & Brews has done a good job with this one. The food is really good and the crowd is pretty mixed from older couples to young students. You get the occasional family who lets there 2 year old run around the place, but it didn't bother me at all. The first time I went the service wasn't that great but I gave them the benefit of the doubt in that they had literally just opened days before. The second time I went the waitress was on her game!
Best/Worst Part
I'd have to say the best part is just the overall atmosphere. Like I said before drinking a beer, I recommend the Racer 5, eating good food and having great music on makes the experience great! Because of the Beer Garden setting you don't have to wait to be seated. You can walk right in, find a table with some space and sit down. I could see this being an issue on really busy nights, but in all it will force you to sit next to a stranger and you might just meet someone awesome.
The Beer Garden is outdoors. In the day time they raise huge umbrellas to keep the sun out and in the evenings they put on the heat lamps. I have no idea what the plan is for rain. They have a small seating area inside, but I would imaging Rock & Brews is more of a "non-rain" place to go.
Food Recommendation
As far as a food suggestion I recommend the Blue Cheese Bacon Burger. It reminds me of the Father's Office burger with blue cheese and bacon on it. You can order regular fries or sweet potato fries. I usually go with the half and half. Drink it down with a Racer 5 and you're good to go!
They also have pizza which I have yet to try, but I did once go with a vegetarian who got some veggie salad pizza thing and she said it was great.
You can check out the menu here.
Random Tip
Follow them on twitter @RockAndBrews. The first time I was there I checked in on foursquare and they hit me back up on twitter asking me how the food was. They don't have a happy hour or any specials but I would imagine in the near future they might tweet out some offers.
Update (10/11/2010)
I went to Rock & Brews' Rocktoberfest this past Friday. Great times with an Oompah Band! Also I found out that they have no corking fee! This place just keeps getting better!

Rock & Brews celebrates great Rock & Roll, Beers, Burgers, Brats, Pizza and more all in our Backstage Beer & Rock Garden.
Dave Furano, veteran Rock promoter along with the legendary Bill Graham, was the tour manager for many great tours including the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, the Grateful Dead, The Doors, the Allman Brothers, George Harrison and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. At every major concert, Furano had to create the ultimate backstage experience for the band’s friends and family to hang out before and after the concert, including their favorite food, beer and memorabilia.
Furano has teamed with Michael Zislis, restaurant impresario and owner of Rock’n Fish Manhattan Beach, LA Live, Brewco, Muchos and Shade Hotel to bring to El Segundo and the South Bay a great combination of original iconic Rock & Roll Art, a broad selection of Artisan Beers, great Pizza and Rockin’ good music and Food.
