When you first enter the KFC/Taco Bell on the corner of Manchester and Lincoln, your senses will be overwhelmed by mediocrity in every corner. From the decor, to the general ambiance it screams "How much change do you have in your jacket pocket?" As you wait in line, next to countless others who have settled for this standard American experience, take in the sights and smells.
You may whiff a delicious burrito supreme being freshly assembled by whatever angry worker decided to show up to package your popurri of frozen ingredients. If you are very lucky, you might be able to identify your specific KFC chicken as it is pulled from the metallic cookers.
Yet, this KFC/Taco Bell has continual wonders to throw at you- the new Double Down for instance is guaranteed to take 4 years off of your life- who wants to live to be 90 anyway? As you munch down on two pieces of fried chicken, two slices of bacon and cheese, think to yourself "I'm an American, dammit, America." You might even hum the Star Spangled Banner and put your hand over your heart (you should do this regardless to monitor for a heart attack).
Or perhaps you are feeling exotic. A trip south of the border? You want to think outside of the bun? You can really only afford a bean and cheese burrito?
Whatever the reason, Taco Bell will welcome you with open arms. Make sure and request extra packets of sauce- the handcrafted Hot Sauce is freshly imported in packets every week. If you are willing to drop some serious dollars, I might suggest one of the combo meals involving a Chalupa (not to be confused with a capybara which is a South American rodent). Or if you want to be the person at the party who can say "You're damn right I brought you some Taco Bell, screw your red wine" you can purchase a party platter.
Whatever the occasion, KFC/Taco Bell has you covered. A first date, a football game, a proven medical hangover cure, a severe desire to gain weight- KFC Taco Bell is my first choice when I've got no choice.
God Bless KFC/Taco Bell and God Bless America.
