Interesting new feature: The movie reviews from OTHER communities appear in my community, Forbidden Planet (for example). And I note too that I can feature film reviews from other communities on my community. Not sure how I feel about that, but I have featured reviews from Movie Hype and Cafe Libri so far. What are the advantages of this feature?

Did you receive the announcement that J.R. sent out? Basically, this update makes Communities on Lunch more open, which gives your content more exposure throughout the site.

I did receive it, but I guess I needed to see it to be tter understand it. This solves the problem of cross-posting that we discussed last year.
I"ve asked this before with no response so let's try again: What determines the featured Lunch reviewers? There's one person you have on there today who has not been active in six weeks!

Hey Jim, I remember answering this question several times, too ;) A variety of factors determine what Lunch reviews get featured. And I'm not sure if you've noticed the pattern, but on the module of five featured reviews, the first three reviews are the latest featured, while the bottom two reviews is the featured reviews archive that rotate on every reload.
Is it possible to have the "About this Community" section ON THE TOP of the community page rather than at the bottom? It would be easier for the viewer than to have him or her scrollling around looking. Thanks.

That's a great suggestion, Jim! I'll pass it onto the team. By the way, I highly suggest that you use the blue "Feedback" button to the right side of any page to send in feedback. That way, it gets to more members of the team directly. Thanks, Jim! :)

OK. I popped off another one regarding searching through reviews.
Well, you seem to have gotten a pretty good grasp on it! It's an interactive questions and answer feature. Post questions on topics that you're curious about, and answer questions that you are an expert in. I'm going to be posting an FAQ soon, and @jrjohnson will be sending out an announcement soon, so look out for that! :)
Yes, I'm pretty good at playing around with the site, but with all due respect would like to see announcements made before a roll-out. Then I'm prepped and can roll with it. Another feature is what you have done with the improved download photo ability in reviews and tips. This is great, but also a surprise!

The Questions feature is a good way of introducing people to discussion boards, just as the Polls feature encouraged people with the former Exhilarate games. Good job. Makes me wish I thought of it first!
Suggestion: The Quick Tips name was OK when the tips were quick. Now with a much bigger character size limit, I suggest a name change. Mini-Reviews? Cathy's Comments? Critic's Corner?
devoraAugust 23, 2010
Thanks for the suggestion, Jim! Quick Tips still can be quick if you'd like them to be ;) I'll share you suggestion with the team anyhow. Thanks again!
Problem: The quick tips box is the same size as the reviews box at 75000 characters. Oops!

That's actually by design, so Lunchers can contribute in whatever way they feel most comfortable. They'll just be displayed differently in various areas of the site :)

Hi, D: Have the engineers given a limit on the regular reviews as they did to the quick tip reviews -- meaning, has to be greater than ten words or something? I do recall a "review" that was only one word long!
Problem: I can only feature the reviews that I wrote but no one else's! Seems to be a glitch since the ones I personally wrote have a drop down menu to feature, remove, etc., yet other participants have no drop down. What's happening?
Also, thanks for making the community messages a separate box for emails. It was a pain to sort out them from other messages manually. Any other tweeks I'm missing? :)

I love that feature, too! Just sit tight, because an announcement is underway... ;)
Thanks for making a comment box and a thumb vote for Quick Tips. I find the one word Quick Tips very unhelpful!

Thanks for the feedback, Jim! The team appreciates that :)

I don't know if you already fixed it, but do have a minimum limit on Regular reviews! You have it for the quick tips. I have seen regular reviews with one word. Sad, but true.
