I love to read, always have, and have been writing reviews for more years than I care to say. Early on, i realized there are more books than there is time to read, so I read only books I like and mostly books I love. I do a "recommended" books column for my local newspaper, The Portsmouth Herald (my column: http://www.seacoastonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/...on?Category=OPINION0536
), which is where most of my Lunch.com
reviews first appeared.
I have pretty wide-ranging tastes, though more fiction than non-fiction, and most of the non-fiction would be nature books or travel related.
I also love to write. For many years I worked in various aspects of journalism - reporter, editor, newspapers, magazines - and then left to write children's series books with my husband Rodman Philbrick.
Nowadays I manage to avoid writing (funny how that works) by gardening, swimming, snorkeling, hiking, running and cooking.
