Local, Hardworking, Patient and Knowledgable... what more could you ask for really.

I recently completed a purchase of a house in Manhattan Beach and there is no way I could have done it without the help of my realtor Jeremy Shelton.  As my title states, he was pretty much everything you could hope for in an agent.

I had a lot of options when choosing a realtor, but I picked Jeremy because of a few key elements.

1. Local.  He lives in Manhattan Beach and knows the area like the back of his hand.  He's been living here since the mid 1990s but his family has been living here much much longer.  He knows everyone in town whether they are architects, builders or local merchants.  A great resource for local knowledge and recognizing trends in where the city is headed in the future.
2. Hardworking.  Even though he has a couple young kids (which makes him a great resource for local school knowledge as well) he's always accessible and since MB is such a small community, he's literally never more than 5 minutes away.  Also, his accessibility is unmatched.  I've dealt with a few other realtors in the area who don't use email or text messages... are you kidding me?  Phone email text... he's on it.
3. Patient.  In my case, it was a very unusual purchase because the house wasn't on the market yet so we had to do a lot of waiting.  We'd make an offer, then have to wait... then wait some more, then the owner decided she wasn't selling it... then wait some more.  It literally took months. During that time he never pushed to buy something else so he could just quickly get paid... he rode it out with me and we finally got the place I wanted at the right price.  This style of agent is something that really resonated with me because I'm really turned off by the someone who is over the top pushy.  
4. Knowledgable.  I think he's been doing this for well over 10 years, and if you couple that with the fact that he's with Shorewood (one of the top firms in the area) and he works with the Parke Group within Shorewood (Parke Group has more experience than anyone other group in the area), you're really getting the full package.  He's younger and has the hustle and his supporting cast are some of the most knowledgable and respected people in the industry.
